She stepped off the ferry without a sound with her feet silently touching the wooden dock. The sun was just starting to show above the horizon, giving the world a sign that a new day was coming. The wind was as calm as ever with the sea, and only the breeze that swept past her let her clothing and hair flow along with it. The sky was a beautiful work of art, with an array of warm colors spreading throughout the horizon. The sea made the soft noise for itself, and not many Pokémon were out this early in the morning. You could see some Wingull and Pelipper having their early flight, but other than that, everything was tranquil.
She had come from the Hoenn region, but that was not where she was born. No, she was born in Snowpoint City, and had travelled to many places to make her knowledge for Pokémon grow. Though, before she left Hoenn, she had decided that it was time for a new start. She gave away all of her Pokémon to those who wanted them, and with only an Absol egg, she travelled to Lanorae. When she was looking for a place to stay, her egg had hatched into a healthy male Absol that she named Hikaru. Though, this was in the past. This was the day before. Before she had arrived in Lanorae, she had "died", but now it was time for rebirth...
---- Ayumu walked emotionessly through the streets of Konika Village. The peaceful village stood along the edge of Ayatie Sea, and that was the way Ayumu was able to get to Lanorae. The previous day when Ayumu had first arrived to Lanorae, and Hikaru had hatched from his egg, Ayumu just spent the rest of the day taking care of Hikaru. She also had bought a Pokeball with the money she had on hand, and now, Ayumu was looking for the laboratory of Professor Morwen Aspen with Hikaru in his Pokeball.
Just like the day before, the weather was nice, and everything was tranquil. There were flocks of Wingull and Pelipper flying above the quiet, little village, and many people were still in their homes. Ayumu had woken up early today, and when she did, she decided to take a morning stroll on her second day on Lanorae. As Ayumu walked upon the peaceful streets of Konika Village, she was about to turn back when she spotted a building that stood out from the others. Ayumu glanced at it with a troubled look, but then she approached it, and found that it was most likely Professor Morwen Aspen's laboratory.
Since Ayumu had nothing else to do, she thought that she might as well pay the Professor a visit, and besides, this was the place where she would get her fresh start on Lanorae. Though, Ayumu first glanced at her clothing, which was the same as usual; a dark blue short-sleeved shirt with a white jacket over it, and white pants with dark blue boots. Well, it was Ayumu wore almost every day, so why not just go with it? With that figure out, Ayumu gave the door to the laboratory a small knock or two, and waited for an answer.

'a note from the professor: I will admit that it is a relatively odd thing that a trainer comes to my lab with a starter already in tow, a very rare thing indeed. Normally, it is not permitted to bring a Pokémon from an outside region here if one is intending to go through the league, but it seems that you have been overlooked... well, what's past is past. However, your lovely Hikaru must start on level one. It is a rare thing for a Pokémon to hatch at level five, and it is something that really only occurs in my lab under the influence of our careful observation. I also cannot give you another starter, unless you wish to send your Absol back to your previous region. Unfortunately, those are the consequences to bypassing our region's security. Fortunately, Absol is a species who is still capable of attacking even from birth, so it shouldn't inhibit your abilities too badly.
I am sorry for any inconvenience. I will still be able to give you items to begin your journey, but that is all.

Professor Aspen looked up from the report she had been glancing over as she heard the sound of a small knock upon the main doors to her lab. She had to admit she was rather startled to actually have received a knock. Normally, particularly with the more eager individuals that frequented the region, she got absolutely no warning before she had to attend to their needs. She had to admit, it was rather nice that she had the time to compose herself.
She rose to her feet, setting the report down on her desk as she quickly made her away around it and strode briskly to the door, brushing ebony hair from her crystal blue eyes as she went. While Morwen probably would never be a person to dress formally -- her current attire consisted of rather worn jeans with a pale blue shirt and a white lab coat positioned loosely over her shoulders -- at least she didn't look like she had been taken by surprise this time.
With a slight smile, she reached out and gently grasped the handle of the door, pulling it open and giving the girl that was standing outside a welcoming look. "Good morning, and welcome to the lab of Professor Aspen, what may I do for you today?" she asked, pulling the door open wider so her entire person and a fair bit of her drawing-adorned lab was visible. 'occ: Thank you for telling me what I have done wrong. i have fixed Hikaru's level, and I was planning that I wouldn't be able to get a starter pokemon anyways. But, you were not an inconvience whatsoever, and I very glad that you corrected me because I often make mistakes. Anyways, thank you very much, and I hope that I wasn't an inconvience to you.---- As Ayumu waited for someone to answer the door after her knock, she thought about what was going to happen next. The more Ayumu thought about it, the more she realized that she would be unable to get an actual starter pokemon here. Ayumu considered this for a moment, trying to figure out her dilemma. She could send Hikaru back to the breeder in the Hoenn region that gave her the egg and gain a Lanorae starter pokemon, or she could keep Hikaru, and then she would only given a trainer's starter kit. The more Ayumu thought about it, the harder it was to decide. Finally, Ayumu decided to keep Hikaru, since the breeder did give her the Absol egg with high hopes that Ayumu would treat the Absol with love and care; if Ayumu gave back the egg, the breeder would think that she made a mistake in giving the egg to Ayumu, and she would no longer trust Ayumu.
Ayumu sighed as she knew what the consequence would be, but she really did not want to leave Hikaru. There were three reasons for her decision on keeping Hikaru. The first reason was because Hikaru looked so similar to Hawkeye, and leaving him would be like betraying her first ever pokemon. The second reason was because she was trusted with the care of Hikaru, and she did not want to ruin that trust. And finally, the third reason was because Ayumu just had this feeling, a very small feeling that Hikaru will spend a longer time with her if Ayumu kept him. Like before, Ayumu knew that this would mean that she would be unable to get a starter pokemon here at Professor Morwen Aspen's lab, but Ayumu would take the consequence, since she had made her final decision.
Then, Ayumu realized that she had been looking at her feet with both of her hands in her jacket pockets. The second Ayumu realized this, she heard the turn of the doorknob on the other side of the door, and she immediately looked straight ahead, and laid her hands on the sides of her thighs. The millisecond Ayumu recomposed herself, she saw the door open, and saw the welcoming look of a middle-aged woman. Though, Ayumu could only see the woman's face, and upper chest behind the door. As Ayumu studied the woman, she saw that the woman had ebony hair, and she had pale blue eyes. The woman wore a pair of jeans with a pale blue shirt as a top, and over the woman's shirt was a lab coat, the hung loosely around her shoulders, but Ayumu could only see a tiny portion of it. When Ayumu saw the lab coat, she assumed that this woman was Professor Aspen despite the casual looks, but Ayumu said nothing.
Next, the woman said good morning and Ayumu gave her a nod in return. She also welcomed Ayumu to the laboratory of Professor Aspen, and asked what she could do for Ayumu today. This only gave another reason why Ayumu thought that this woman was Professor Aspen, but she didn't say her guess yet, since Ayumu wanted to make sure she had the right person. Also, the woman opened the door wider, so that Ayumu could see the woman's entire body, in which Ayumu categorized the build similar to her own. Though, Ayumu stood three inches taller than the woman, so she had to look down upon the woman.
Then, Ayumu spoke, but with a hint of hesitation in her voice tone. "I am presuming that you are Professor Aspen, am I correct?" Ayumu asked before saying anything else. Though, without waiting for a response, Ayumu decided she had better answer the woman's question anyways. "Oh, I'm just here to start my journey here at Lanorae as a trainer..." she started with a polite tone, "but you don't have to give me a starter pokemon..." Ayumu added hesitantly. What if the woman got mad at her? What if she was forced back to the regions she had visited? You see, Ayumu wasn't a trainer because she wanted to defeat the Elite Four. That was not the reason. The reason was because she enjoyed her adventures in the regions she came across, and this region certainly had Ayumu's full interest.
Just in case the woman asked why Ayumu did not need a starter pokemon, Ayumu included, "I have my own, so yeah..." With that said, Ayumu let out a nervous sigh, but the tension for her wasn't over yet. There was still the reaction of the woman to come, and Ayumu wasn't looking forward to it...

The ebony haired woman gave a slight inclination of her head as Ayumu stated her assumption that she was indeed the leading professor, her smile still playing on her lips. "That I am. Morwen if you prefer, very few of my aides, myself included, really bother with the formalities." Her tone of voice seemed to be kept relatively even; while it wasn't typical enough to really monotone, she didn't seem like the type that really showed a lot of expressive emotion save for her smile and perhaps the welcome glimmer that sparkled in her blue eyes.
At the same time however, a semi-surprised expression came over the woman's features as the girl -- who was a bit taller than her, though fortunately Morwen didn't really mind that fact too much -- stated she already had a starter. That was something that almost never happened when an aspiring trainer came to her lab, considering this was a place to actually get a starter Pokemon. Most of the time when someone had a Pokemon to start with already -- be it a family pet or others -- they simply set off without paying her a visit at all; then if a trainer was coming from another region... well, most of the time it was a bit restricted when it came to bringing outside Pokemon in.
She blinked, apparently coming out of her surprised thoughts as she waved Ayumu's comment away. "That's just fine. At the very least though I could at least give you one of our starter kits seeing you went through the effort of paying my lab a visit just the same," she packed away, giving a slight inclination of her head. "Why don't you come in for a little bit while I get one of the packs. Do you happen to have any questions or something of the sort I could possibly answer?"
As she stepped away from the door, the main lobby of the lab became almost entirely visible. The tiled floor was accented with small rugs in some areas, particularly where a pair of arm chairs were stationed around a small coffee table that was littered with open books. Book shelves containing texts of almost every genre were positioned around the walls, all carefully organized so everything could be found easily.
However, it seemed that what wall space there was available was covered by some framed sketch. Some of them featured known creatures, particularly of the Froslass and Riolu species, and some of them showed the two Pokemon together, while others showed Pokemon that were probably native to the Lanorae region itself. One image in particular was fully coloured and showed three different Pokemon, one that looked like a small green and brown bipedal lizard or dinosaur with a small horn on its nose and two more curling from the back of its head, while the other two were what appeared to be an orange lion cub that was wreathed in flames and a blue, serpentine creature that seemed fitted for life in the oceans respectively. They were the three Lanorae starters, to be exact.
At the same time, there was also a noticeable chill in the lab, though Professor Aspen didn't seem to be particularly bothered by it. It was really a curious thing though that she seemed to have the air conditioner on so high. True, it was during the summer months, but at the same time it was almost frigid. [/blockquote]

((OOC: I’m so sorry for the extremely long wait. I’ve been doing a lot of things lately, and yeah. Sorry!))
When Ayumu assumed that this woman was Professor Morwen Aspen, the woman gave an inclination of her head, and reaffirmed Ayumu’s assumption. Professor Aspen also said that she didn’t really bother with formalities, but Ayumu happened to be naturally polite, so Ayumu kept to her way of speaking. When Professor Aspen spoke though, her voice was quite even, but it wasn’t like a monotone even. It was more of an emotionless kind of thing, but her smile and the slight twinkle in her sapphire eyes were most likely a replacement for Professor Aspen’s voice.
Though, in unison, there was a somewhat surprised expression that passed Professor Aspen’s face when Ayumu said that she already had a starter. Ayumu was now fretting like crazy, and she was so worried about what was going to happen next. Would Professor Aspen call the police, and then Ayumu would be forced to return to where she previously came from? What if Professor Aspen asked for Ayumu to return Hikaru? What would Ayumu do then? All of these frantic thoughts passed through Ayumu’s head, and this did not help her nervous emotions. Though, Ayumu had the practice of hiding her real emotions, so it would be difficult for Professor Aspen to tell, but then again, Ayumu could never really see herself from another person’s view. What Ayumu did try to do, was to keep a totally calm composition and expression, or else she would just make a fool of herself.
When Ayumu returned to reality, she was able to see Professor Aspen blink. At the sight of this, Ayumu gave out a slight breath, since when she was thinking, Ayumu realized that she was holding her breath all the time. Also, it seemed that Professor Aspen had also been in her own thoughts as Ayumu saw Professor Aspen look at Ayumu. But when Professor Aspen replied, Ayumu let out the sigh of relief she kept in for so long. The professor said that bringing Hikaru along was fine as well as not being given the starter pokemon of Lanorae, but what pleased Ayumu the most was that Professor Aspen was generous enough to actually give Ayumu a starter kit. As Professor Aspen said this, she gave a slight inclination of her head, and Ayumu was ever grateful to Professor Aspen for letting Ayumu keep Hikaru. Out of thankfulness and gratefulness, Ayumu also said in a very polite and relieved tone, “Thank you so much. I really appreciate this.”
Professor Aspen also invited Ayumu to come in while she got the packs, so Ayumu gave the professor a grateful nod, and stepped inside. Professor Aspen also asked if Ayumu had any questions that the Professor could answer, so Ayumu thought about for a while. So far, nothing seemed to pass her mind, so Ayumu replied in a kind and polite tone, “I don’t have any questions at the moment, but if something comes to mind I’ll ask.” But then Ayumu realized that she might be asking too much, so she added, “Is that okay?” Then, Professor Aspen stepped away from the door, and Ayumu was able to see the main lobby of the laboratory clearly. The sight of just the main lobby only awed Ayumu, and she made sure she got in all the wonderful details. There were books on book shelves against the wall that took up a lot of the lobby’s space, and there were even some stranded books on tables. Either way, Ayumu was amazed at how organized the lobby was, and it just surprised her.
Though, on a wall space, it was taken up by sketches of various pokemon. Most of them Ayumu knew, but there was one framed picture that Ayumu did not a single pokemon on it. It was drawn with three pokemon together. Though, unlike the other pictures, this one was fully –colored and it was the one that caught Ayumu’s attention the quickest. One of the three pokemon was like a small green, two-legged dinosaur with a small horn on the tip of its nose, another was like a small orange lion cub, and the last one was like a blue serpentine creature that seemed like the ocean was its home. But no matter how hard Ayumu raked her brain to see if she knew these pokemon, she could not, so she asked the professor, “Um, do you know who those pokemon are? I never had seen them before.” As Ayumu said this, she also motioned towards the beautiful picture of the three pokemon, with a slightly confused look on her face.
So this was it. This was the day Ayumu would start her journey in Lanorae. Even though Ayumu hadn’t even gotten her things, she was already excited to start. She had travelled around for so long, and this time, Ayumu wanted this journey to be the best. She wanted it to be the best for her, and also Hikaru, along with any other pokemon she caught along her way. This was the beginning of a life time; a rebirth after her death…

ooc. It's fine ^^ And I'm sorry if this post turns out a bit short xD I'm trying to get as many replies out as a can before my internet shuts off for the night.
bic. "That's just fine dear. I'm a professor, it's my job to answer questions," Professor Aspen gave a good natured smile as she turned to grab a starter pack from the numerous array that were kept tucked neatly away. However, she turned her head to look at what Ayumu was referring to as she spoke about the Pokémon on one of the images she had put up.
"Oh! Yes, you probably wouldn't know them, especially if you're not from this region. Those three are the Pokémon we've decided to keep as starter Pokemon, Firecub, the fire type, Iglora, the grass type, and Seaward, the water type. You can probably guess which one's which," she turned around completely once she had her hands clasped around a small bag, which contained the necessary starting supplies everyone was provided with.
"My son started with Firecub himself, nicknamed Jaguar, though I'm positive it probably evolved into its last stage, Furion, by now...." a momentary hint of motherly concern flashed before her eyes, but she quickly replaced it with a sad smile as she held the item pack out for Ayumu to take.
"If you happen to see him, tell him to give me a call. I'm sure he keeps Jaguar out all the time, so if you see a large fire lion that's probably him. Here's your starter kit, and if there's anything else I can help with please do ask. If not, well, good luck."
Pokéball x5 Potion x5 Full Heal x3 Region Map x1 1000 C ;; Lanorae's currency You may now move on to Route One! [/blockquote]
