The Konika Village lab is the primary "base of operations" for one Professor Morwen Aspen and her various aides. While it is actually a rarity for the professor herself to be in, one of the many researchers that work under her guide are generally more than willing to take on the responsibility of giving beginning trainers their starter Pokémon. This is also where most trainers send the Pokémon which they are not currently training if they have nowhere else to send them. Of course, at first glance the lab is rather strange. After all, it lacks quite a bit of the typical scientific necessities that most modern labs normally have.
