[ d u c k y ! ] "Yare yare dawa... aww, man. Where am I?" She quiet, curious voice rang throughout the air, filled with tension, and humidity. Beads of sweat rolled down the female's body and face, and she gingerly glanced around the area. People. Everywhere, there were people; they were all rushing to get off the boat they had been cramped on for the past week. Ducky had to admit that it wasn't enjoyable, either. She hadn't done much but eat and sleep, since there was nothing else she could do. The ship was so boring, and she just had to stretch her legs. Yawning slightly, releasing the stress and tension in her muscles, she began to rub her arms gently to get rids of all the knots and kinks, before doing the same to her legs.
Soon, she was ready to go.
The girl gave a small smile, before she reached up a trembling hand and wiped the sweat off of her forehead, small wrinkle coming up as her eyes appeared to be swirling with panic. Wait... where was that place at? They had never told her! Snap! She gave a groan of frustration, before her eyes flooded with worry again. Wait... what if they didn't have the Pokémon she wanted...? No! She knew it was extremely rare, and very hard to obtain, but Ducky had always been a person who was full of luck. Like when the herd of Tauros nearly crushed her, but she lucked out by tripping and flying out of their way. Luck. It was all oure chance, and luck.
Hopefully they would have an Eevee... she would give anything in the world for one. The girl pumped her arms in some attempt to contain herself, before her light, chcolate brown eyes carefully gazed above her. A wide building loomed over the area; it had a set of flawlessly carved wooden stairs, and two rusty double doors. A sign outside was painted white, and was about as tall and wide as Ducky herself was; it green print, it read, "PROFESSOR'S LABORATORY". The girl may have been scared... but an unknown force guided her inside.
A trembling hand gently brushed against the door, feeling the cool metal. She slurred a plea to herself that they would have her pokemon; the Pokémon that she would stop at nothing to recieve. The girl gave a small smile, before nodding and pushing open the handle. Instantly, she was met with a huge room in front of her; ceiling fans gently hovered idlely above her head, and the cool air engulfed her whole body. ducky purred happily in relaxation, taking this as the escape from the hot atmosphere outside. She looked around, finally noticing the scientists around her.
"E-excuse me?" She called out shyly, wondering if anyone could possibly be giving out her Eevee here.
OOC:// Kiki first, then somebody can give us our Pokémon. <3

A lone figure trudged along a pathway, almost dragging her feet from the long journey she had just endured. She had recently had to outrun a small group of mischievous Pidgey that had literally, decided to pick on her. Before that, she had walked for a couple of days with only a few hours of sleep. Her current clothes were a bit worn, but she had recently washed them where she was sure nobody would see her. It had been very awkward, but it had needed to be done. She didn't want to go into the Konika Village laboratory looking like she was living on the streets.
"Come on, Darvala, you're almost there," she said, trying to convince herself that she was. She looked up, and was surprised to see that she was, in fact, almost there. Panting a little, she continued on. Why did today have to be so hot? Her Bandanna didn't look to nice on her head today, but if she took it off, her hair would be even worse, so she stuck to her bandanna being on.
What seemed like hours later, though it was only minutes, she was at the front of the laboratory. She had been thinking about what Pokemon she wanted. She had, for some reason, shown great interest in Munchlax lately. It was odd, really; she had never really been interested in them before, but she had grown to like them. It would be a replacement for a Riolu, which she knew would likely be impossible to get. Though, if she did end up getting a Riolu or Munchlax, she'd probably die of excitement.
Grabbing the handle and pushing the door open, she found herself surrounded be a few scientists. It was quite busy; a little more busy than she had expected anyway. A girl that looked a little younger than herself was in front of her. Well, that was ironic; you usually didn't get to a lab at the same time, or so she'd heard. It was mostly individual. She came up from behind and paused by her side. "Hi, there," she said in a friendly tone.

"Professor Aspen?" a teal-haired woman put her hands on her hips as she glanced around the expansive lab, absently tapping the toe of one of her high-heeled boots on the tile. She knew the Professor hadn't run off again already. By Arceus, she had just come back from one of her jaunts around the countryside! She needed to stick around the lab for a month at least before she ran out again!
Anyway, both Kiana and Ria were still here. Morwen would have taken them if she went out on another call.
"Morwen? Where are you, come on, I know you're here..." the young woman sighed, pushing her half-moon glasses higher up the bridge of her nose. "You're as bad as your son, I swear..." she muttered to herself, absently stepping past one of the book shelves and glancing about the large main lobby of the lab. The walls were, of course, filled with various framed drawings by the Professor herself. Morwen Aspen was relatively well known for her skill when it came to drawing Pokemon, though most sketches that covered the lab currently featured the Professor's own Pokemon, Ria the Riolu and Kiana the Froslass, or the three Lanorae starters, Iglora, Firecub, and Seaward.
The aide huffed, edging by another one of the aides that were currently running about the lab, and nearly tripping over a small, blue creature in the process. "OH! I'm sorry, Ria dear, I didn't hurt you did I?" the woman exclaimed taking note of the small Riolu that had somehow found itself beneath her feet.
"Riii," the Pokemon replied cheerfully, waving the aide off before hopping onto a chair, and then onto the head of a Froslass that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. A chill accompanied the ice spirit, causing the teal-haired aide to shudder.
"Well, there you two are... now where's the Prof--"
"Ah, hello there girls," another female voice interrupted the aide as a dark haired woman exited the hall that lead into the main lobby, just in time to greet the two young girls that had found their way into the lab. She pushed her dark, ebony hair from her eyes, smiling cheerfully as she regarded her new arrivals. Her lab coat hung loosely off her shoulders, and her long hair was left to fall free around her shoulders.
"My name is Professor Aspen. What may I do for you two today?" she asked, smiling at the two who had arrived.
The teal-haired aide could merely mutter to herself as she edged to the Professor's side, running a hand through her hair as she waited until the woman was finished with the two... she guessed they were trainers. [/blockquote]

[ d u c k y ! ] Soon, the girl was startled by a sudden burst of gust, rushing down her back. She flinched from the cold, also because she was startled, before instinct told her to turn around. She obeyed, and was met with the unfamiliar face of another female, who looked slightly older than her. Being homosexual, ducky was never good around people with the same gender as her; she blushed faintly, and lowered her head submissively. The girl had learned through experience that if the 'rank order' was sorted out the moment she met someone, it was a lot easier to get along. "Hello..." She spoke shyly, before she decided to attempt something else. a conversation.
"I'm waiting for the Professor," she explained, nodding, the blush still faintly surfacing on her cheeks. "I hope she's not scary..." Ducky said, before directing her attention to a blur in the corner of her eye. She glanced quickly, and was met with a stunningly beautiful older woman, followed by... another beautiful woman! Ducky was sure she was going to melt; they were so prettier, so superior, so amazing... and then, the first one revealed who she was. "Ah, hello there girls,"
[/i] she said, pushing a strand of hair out of the way from her eyes, and smiling with a cheerful radiation. Ducky blushed again and shifted towards the older girl from before, the one with the red hair wrapped inside her blue bandana. She was obviously extremely shy around girls who were older than her. "My name is Professor Aspen. What may I do for you two today?"[/i] She questioned, as Ducky nearly couldn't find the words. She bowed respectively, giving them both a humble smile. "H-hello, ma'am... I'm.... here for my first pokemon, if you're willing to give them away..." she pleaded, her voice obviously quiet and squeaky. Darvala could tell that this girl was a bit shy around others, so she stepped back a little bit so as not to crowd her or make her more nervous than she already was. Although, she had to admit the younger girl was cute for a girl; not that she had any interest in other girls, of course. Well, she wasn't really interested in guys either, but that wasn't the point. Darvala noticed that it was a lot nicer in here than outside; she didn't feel as tired, and she felt rather refreshed.
Darvala turned to the girl again when she announced she was waiting for the Professor. "Cool. I am, too," she replied with a smile. She chuckled a bit at the 'I hope she's not scary...' part. "Don't worry about her being scary. If this place reflects the Professor, she will be very nice," she said. Darvala turned to see the Professor coming along. Well, speak of the devil, and he shall appear. Not literally, in this case, but it was ironic that she chose to appear at just the right time.
"Hello, Professor Aspen. It's nice to meet you. I'm Darvala, and I'm here for a starter as well," Darvala said in a confident tone. She felt a little sorry for the younger girl; it must be hard, being young and surrounded by much older people. She smiled when she noticed that she had shifted towards herself a little more, and away from the adults. Well, the shy ones never stayed shy for long. She hoped that the girl would warm up to the Professors. After all, it wasn't like she was getting asked a question that would save her life, or rather not save it.

Professor Aspen retained her almost motherly smile as she listened to what her two guests had to say with an almost rapt attention. Of course... starters. She should have guessed. That was always usually the reason for individuals their age to come to her lab. There was the occasional one who wished to serve as a lab aide under her, of course, at least for some training of sorts, but most of the time it was definitely to follow the call of a Pokemon journey.
"Ah, of course, it's a pleasure to meet you both," she replied smoothly, after she was positive they had said all they had to say so far. She again brushed aside a strand of hair from her slim features, tucking it behind one of her ears. The Professor was certainly well into her later thirties, perhaps even early forties at this point [after all, she had a son in his later teens], which could be seen in the rather dim twinkle in her eyes, but at least she didn't let that fact slow her down.
Even so, there was the obvious twinkle of amusement touching her gaze as she picked up on the nervous tone Ducky seemed to be addressing her with. "And yes, of course dear. The starters are there for new trainers such as yourself to take, though it's certainly nice of you to show the fact some respect. I don't know how many trainers I've had in here that come rushing in and all but demand a starter!"
"And most of the time I'm the one taking care of those ones..." the teal-haired aide muttered from behind, adjusting her half-moon glasses over her eyes. She purposely seemed to put an annoyed tone in her voice, fiddling with her own white lab coat, though judging from the glance Professor Aspen exchanged with the Froslass and Riolu that were still hovering about the small group the older woman knew full well her aide enjoyed it.
"But, I'm sure I have taken up enough time with pleasantries," the Professor finally said, waving the thought away with a brisk gesture. "Starters. Now, do you girls have any idea what you want? We have the Lanorae Pokemon Iglora, Firecub, and Seaward of course, and there's the few different ones we get in every so often. Though, if you're looking for a game of chance you can always choose from our supply of eggs..."
She drifted off, looking at Darvala and Ducky with a curious eyebrow raised as she waited for any indication that something she had offered had caught their interest. [/blockquote]
