Name: Lee Ann Marie Cornelia
Nickname: Lee
Age: 13 human years
Gender: Female
Occupation: Trainer
Appearance: (( Just a warning-- I'm not the best at character profiles. Please know that my actual roleplaying is much better than this. Dx ))
In a word, Lee is tall. Tall dad + tall mom = tall Lee. She began her ascension at a young age, being one of the lankiest and most willowy children in her class at school. For a while, doctors thought she wasn’t getting the right nutrition, but she seemed energetic enough, and considering the stature of her parents, they soon just shrugged it off as heredity.
It’s safe to say that she hasn’t ever cut her hair. Sure, she gets a few trims every now and again to handle split ends and frizzy-ness, but she’s never taken off more than a couple inches. Because of this it falls down past her belly button, and often flies around into her face and becomes an overall nuisance. To tame her mane, she often ties it back in a ponytail. Goldish-brown to even blond in color, it well compliments her fair skin. Lee is dreading the day all that beautiful gold will fade to grey, so she’s decided that when she’s old she’ll dye it red and get it cut short. (Not curly like most old ladies-- curls will just fall right out of her thin, straight hair-- but just enough so she isn’t brushing it for hours when it reaches to the floor.) She keeps her bangs parted at an angle so that one half is broader than the other. This side often falls into her eyes, while the other is tucked behind her ear or clipped back.
Speaking of eyes, you’ve never seen more radiant emerald than on this girl’s face! They’re always sparkling with wonder and enthusiasm and curiosity, never held in one place for too long. You can often read her emotions through them, which makes her a horrible lair-- you can always tell just by looking into those green, green eyes.
Personality: Lee is a bit reluctant to grow up. Whereas most children can’t wait to get a car and a job and a boyfriend and such, this girl just wants to stay a child forever. Because of this, she still wears boy clothes-- hand-me-downs from her older brother-- like when she was little and completely refuses to wear make-up or fingernail polish or anything girly like that. You should’ve seen the look on her face when her mother bought her her first bra-- pure devastation! Now, on to more important aspects of her personality…
Lee is extremely bubbly and enthusiastic about everything she does. This goes even to the point of being an optimist-- scary, huh! You will never hear her say anything remotely rude or hurtful to anyone or anything. After all, it’s better to make friends than enemies, right? She’s always wearing a huge grin to make the clouds part and the sun shine, brightening the day of anyone who walks by. There’s just this cheerful aura about her that rubs off on people who happen to glance at her! Like the kind you get when you see children playing happily, or a cute little kitten. She can’t help it really, but doesn’t seem to mind-- or, rather, notice the effect she has on people… However, like most girls beginning puberty (don’t ever say that to her or she’ll scream at you -_-; she is prone to mood swings and might snap at you if she’s having a particularly bad hormone day.
Her parents have noticed this. They want her to grow up and act her age, prompting her to wear make-up and put on some nice clothes, but she denies more and more every day that she will have to sometime soon. She just hopes and prays that when the time comes for her to become an adult, her parents will let her go.
Strengths & Weaknesses: Lee has a well-known fear of being alone in the dark. One day her family went out hiking in the mountains, planning to stay and camp for the night. When the sun began to set and her parents were putting up the tent, she had wandered off and gotten lost. As it got darker and darker, she became more and more afraid. Then a stray Golbat fluttered by-- and she screamed. Loudly. From that day on she completely refused to go anywhere even remotely dark without someone.
She’s also quite timid around bugs. Not the pretty ones-- like Beautifly and Yanma and Butterfree-- but the big ugly ones. Mothim, Heracross, Spinarak, even empty Nincada shells; you name it, she’ll scream. Loudly. Still, she denies it all and pretends to loooove bugs for fear of losing her dignity.
What really gets to her are corpses; namely dead fish. Another time her family all went out fishing. Lee was pumped up and excited, and it seemed nothing could stop her enthusiasm-- until her brother found a dead Magikarp that had washed up on shore. And he threw it at her. She screamed. Loudly. Ever since, she’s never been able to tolerate anything dead.
Despite her rather predictable fears, she still has her strong points. For example, her naturally kind and motherly nature makes her befriend nearly any Pokémon with ease. She loves and sees the true beauty in each and every one, knowing just how to bring out their inner potential. Some say she has the makings of a great Co-ordinater, but she’s never given it a try and sticks with battling.
History: Lee came into the world part of a humble family. Her parents didn’t spoil her and gave her simple chores to teach her responsibility early on. From birth to about 7 years of age, her family lived in a beautiful, forested area of the Johto region. She spent all her free time roaming the woods until she knew every rock, tree, stream, and shrub like the back of her hand. She nearly lived outdoors and made friends with many of the resident Pokémon. These were the best times she can remember, romping and roaming the entire universe located in her own backyard, and she wouldn’t change it for anything.
And then they moved to the Lanorae region. And her world ended.
She had to say good-bye to all her friends, both human and Pokemon, and leave to some ‘place’ she’d never heard about. For weeks she moped around and pouted-- never speaking, hardly eating, and refusing to leave the sanctuary of her bedroom.
Her parents realized soon that there was something terribly wrong with their once-sunny daughter, and wanted desperately to help; so they gave her what she really, truly wanted-- they let her start her Pokémon journey.
In moments her attitude swung right around; the clouds of her life parted and the sun shone into her world once more. Relieved to see her smile again yet anxious for their little girl’s well-being, they made her promise to write monthly (because they knew weekly wasn’t going to happen) before finally letting her go.
This is where Lee’s epic journey begins.
