Carol sighed as the sea breeze kept messing up his hair. He had never been on a boat before but it wasn't exactly the most exciting thing out there. Those luxury cruise lines must be a lot better than this little boat. There were quiet a few people on the boat however, but none of them were kids or teens, so obviously he was the only trainer headed to Konika Village. He didn't exactly feel as excited as he should.. Most trainers are super excited when they get their first pokemon, but Carol didn't feel that excitment.
The only thing he thought of was his parent's disappointed look when he left on the boat. Surely they would of been happy for him right? But he crushed their dreams of living a luxurious life for his own dreams, and that hung over him like a storm cloud. But he hoped that after he got his pokemon that this dreary cloud might fade and he can be excited for the start of his journey.
"Ladies and Gentlemen." A female voice said. The microphone made her voice crackle, pulling Carol out of thought. "We will be arriving at Konika Village shortly. Please be sure to gather all of your items for we are not responsible for lost items. Thank you for riding with us and have a great day!" He sighed softly and pushed his bag up over his shoulder.
The Village was small and somewhat quiet. It was rather peaceful to Carol as he stepped off the boat. Must be nice to live here.. The smell of the salty sea was everywhere and it was rather warm. Better than his town which was cold constantly and houses we smashed together. He took a small look around before his eyes locked onto the lab. "Well, here we go." He said softly, before heading to the lab.
He wasn't even sure what pokemon he wanted. He had heard that they give away eggs, which sounded very interesting. He didn't have a favorite type of pokemon and he'd have to much trouble trying to chose from the pokemon they offered, the egg sounded like the best choice. He strolled up to the double doors taking a small glance around. "Guess I should just go in.." He mumbled, grabbing the door handle and allowing himself in. "H-hello?"

The lab's interior was spotless, no thanks to Cillian. He was the newest (and arguably clumsiest, laziest, and generally most useless) Aide at the lab. In fact, it was a miracle that he hadn't found a way to burn the building down yet. It was an unfortunate circumstance for the red-haired man, but some people are just not graced with grace.
When Carol walked through the doors, Cillian was on the verge of finally battling the Champion, as he made his way up the steps and tossed a Pokeball out which sent a bright burst of red throughout the room. Just as the Champion stepped into view, as their identity was about to finally be revealed, he awoke in a panic. "H-hello?" Timing was rarely on Cillian's side.
"Huh?" He quickly peeled himself off the desk, doing his best to appear awake and attentive, rather than sleepy and annoyed. "Oh! Hi there! Welcome to the lab!" He stood up and offered his hand for a handshake. "The name's Cillian, I'm an Aide here! I should be able to help with whatever it is you might need. I'm guessing you're here for a starter?"

"Um.. hi.." He said softly, hesitating for a moment before grabbing Cillian's hand for a moment before quickly pulling it back. "A-and yes. I'm here for a starter.." Sheesh he sounded stupid studdering like that. "I'm Carol." He introduced himself taking a small look around the lab. The lab had met his expectations. It was very clean and looked very scientific.. But he would of thought there would of been many more people around than just this guy in front of him.
He looked back to Cillian and pushed his glasses back up his nose. "Um I've heard that you had Pokémon eggs as a choice for a starter.." Better than sitting in this lab for an hour trying to pick some Pokémon. Even if it was a Pokémon he wasn't expecting he'd still be happy with it. "I was hoping I could get one of those.." He said softly, but he also worried that if he chose an egg it might not hatch.
I'm over thinking things again! He shook his head and pulled his sweater's sleeve over his hands. He needed to stay positive and not try to think of all the things that were going to happen. He'll be fine! Sheesh, he really hated that aspect of over thinking just about everything..

"Oh yes! Most people tend to pick one of the Pokemon native to Lanorae. Not many people like to risk it like that." He gave a grin. "I like the way you think, Carol. Now, lemme find you a good one!" The red-haired man turned on his heels and headed toward his desk. Behind it was an entire wall covered from the floor to the ceiling in a tall bookshelf more akin to a cubbyhole system.
"Hmm. Eeny, meeny, miney, mo. Catch a Firecub by the toe. If he burns you, let him go. Eeny, meeny, miney... Mo!" He hummed silently to himself before pointing up to a cubbyhole near the top-right corner of the shelving unit. He grabbed a Pokeball from the pocket of his standard lab coat, and an Ariados emerged. The aide smiled and continued to point at the particular cubby. "If you don't mind."
The arachnid Pokemon promptly shot a sticky string at the ceiling and propelled himself up the shelving unit. A few moments later it was back on the floor with the egg securely fastened to its back. After peeling the sticky string off the egg, Cillian happily handed the egg to Carol. "Good luck."
[glow=lavender,5,500] The egg began to hatch![/glow] The egg was quickly encased in a pale purple glow, as whatever was inside began to push and bounce around inside its shell, rocking back and forth violently as assorted cracks spread about the smooth surface. Finally, the egg shattered and the Pokemon inside sprang up with a loud 'Spoink!'
"Oh, a Spoink!" Cillian mused as he motioned at his Ariados for something. "They're Psychic Pokemon who rely on a constant bouncing motion to keep their heart pumping. And they're pretty cute little guys, too." The Ariados returned with a small sack of items. "And this is your Starter Pack. And I guess you'll be needing a Pokeball as well." He dug into his pocket and retrieved a small orb. "For your Spoink." [/color][/size][/blockquote] Congratulations! Carol received a Spoink and a Starter Pack!

Carol was amazed as the egg broke in his hands into a little Spoink. His eyes were wide at the little pokemon now in his arms. He had never witnessed a pokemon being born before.. "Spoink huh?" He said softly, looking at the little pig pokemon. "Oh! Uh..T-thank you!" He said to Cillian, taking the bag and pokeball in his hand. But he wasn't going to put this little guy in his pokeball yet.... Carol finally got why trainer say receiving their starter is one of the most exciting thing to happen to them. Carol couldn't help but admire the little pokemon for a moment, knowing that this little guy was going to be him for the rest of his time as a trainer..
He looked back up at Cillian with now a determined look in his eyes. "Again thanks." With a small nod of his head he turned and left the lab. Excitement filled his body as he smiled down at the little pokemon. "I should give you a name shouldn't I?" He said laughing at himself. "Spoink." Might be a little hard to give this pokemon a name already. "Hmm..."
"I think I'll name you Bambi.." He said softly. "Spoink!" It said in excitement and Carol laughed. "Bambi it is then!" He said, now excited and ready to startr his own journey.
