Arson is something of a unique young man. In comparison to most his age, he's generally quite reserved and cautious, due to his unique ability. You see, he does his best to keep everyone else safe, above all else. Quite often, this leads to him moving about from place to place rather frequently. As a result, he has met many people but knows better than to attempt a connection with any of them. His rationalization is that if he gets close with people, he knows he'll end up hurting them and himself in the long run. He's always running away.
He likes to keep to himself. Where he goes he never really settles in, but he'll get an odd job and stay as long as he can, earning some money to support him until he needs to leave and start all over again. More often than not he finds himself pitying people who depend on their possessions -- their homes and their paper money and their hip fashions -- as he has no use for most of those things. Frankly, he lives off the clothes on his back, while they last.
And though he doesn't envy people's possessions, Arson has green eyes toward people with relationships. He's hasn't had anyone really close to him in years, and longs for any sort of lasting connection, even if it were a bad one. When he worked at a PokeMart in Violet City, he heard a coworker complaining about his controlling mother, and couldn't help but resent him for taking that relationship for granted. Overall, Arson is a rather lonely young man, but that's all part of the curse, he thinks. Of course he would never say that aloud... Being cursed is nothing to be proud of, afterall.

Arson was born with brown hair and blue eyes, traits that both his parents had in common. As he grew up, his hair began to lighten a bit, and by the age of ten or so it was a very light brown indeed, edging on dirty blonde. His parents thought nothing of it. 'He spends a lot of time outdoors, in the sun.' They rationalized. 'The sunlight is just lightening it.' They had to reason to think that this train of logic was incorrect.
But it was.
His eyes, too, became less and less vibrant blue, until they turned an ashy grey colour. 'Well all babies are born with blue eyes until they grow into some pigment. He must just be a late bloomer that way.' They rationalized. They had no reason to think that this train of logic was incorrect.
But it was.
By the age of twelve his hair was fully red and his eyes were fully grey. Aside from that, though, he was rather typical. A bit on the scrawny side for someone his age, but altogether typical.
At sixteen he began really growing into himself. He grew to nearly six feet, and started putting on a bit of muscle, especially in his legs. He was still relatively lightweight, which made him very fast. In school he was the top athlete, and was invited to the regional track meet.
But the fire stopped that from happening.
Now at the age of eighteen, he's still a bit on the small side though is able to hold his own. He generally wears clothing that's simple and inexpensive, to avoid, well, you know. Most often he's seen in khaki greens, dusty reds, or dull browns. He prefers wearing jeans or full-length pants over shorts, for he has black scars on both legs which wrap around his knees. For one reason or another, he has a strange inclination to buy nice shoes, despite his dislike for expensive material possessions.
