Sooo... shyeah, I draw. I sprite a bit, too. And I write, but I don't know how much of that you'll see outside of my roleplaying - I'm not that good, and furthermore, I tend to linger on... *ahem* mature topics. Kind of. (That's code for "I like to swear.") Sooo I'll throw up some stuff here. Look if ya like, don't if you don't.
There two are my most recent works. I made an "Epic CD" the other day with music on it that makes me want to take over the world. Instead of that, however, I grabbed my sketchbook and went to town. These people have names (With the exclusion of one) but I'm not getting into it. Also, the top one has more added onto it now by means of a background, though I'm not done yet.
Some of you may even recognize one of these men. 83
To finish my artwork, I usually use colored pencils. It's not the best, but it's all I've got. My scanner is pretty crummy, so this looks pretty bad colorwise. I'll live, though.
Yet another drawing of the familiar face. Ohohoho.
Yep! I draw ladies, too. And non-dynamic poses, imagine that! Anyway. this started as a self-portrait kind of thing that went totally haywire. I thought it was kinda cool. Got it published in my school's literary magazine thing, too. |D
Mmyep, that's all for now. Enjoy. For more, feel free to visit my DA, located here. Toodles~!

Just shoving a sprite up here to see how it looks when on the boards.
...I think I'll change the bottoms of the pants. I tried to show the fringy falling apart-ness, but it looks a little... awkward. So do the pokéballs. Hmm.
Hmmmm. Mmm. What do you think? If anyone looks here, that is. XD

o: your stuff is really good~
i love your dynamic! action poses. i'd never be able to draw anything like that. xD
my suggestions are just to brush up just a little on your anatomy, and take a little more time studying how clothes fall on the human body--in that order. can't do the second without knowing the first. (: and for your pencil drawings, i also suggest you smooth out your lines, instead of hatching or "pecking" as my art teacher calls it.
i can nit-pick//red-line some of your art if you'd like, but i'd feel like i'm being much too ">8|!" if i did it outright. o3o;;
love your style for drawing faces, btw. o:
as for the sprite, try using grey for the jean-strands? and unless she wears bell-bottoms, i suggest shrinking the ends. o3o;; but i think that's half personal opinion.
for the pokeballs, try using a darker red and white. i thought they were rocks before. xD;; /shot
but aside those, the sprite is really nice, too. C: i like the idea with the pokeballs falling while she's running.
the hair is also very nicely done.

Say goodbye to third-generation trainer sprites. They're small, cramped, and awkward. Say hello to fourth-generation trainer sprites. They're larger, there are more variations which allows you to make your sprite more unique. Trust me. I improved so much with trainers once the fourth-generation sprites came out.

Rex - Thanks so much! And I greatly appreciate your suggestions! If you could redline/nitpick/totally destroy my art, I would love it. I really, really would. I mean, I've got to get better somehow, right?
Gah, I'm so excited now. =D Thanks so much!
Jake - Hmmm, fourth generation, you say? All right, I'll go check it out. Any other tips? God knows I'm a novice when it comes to sprites. XP
Daesiggil - Aww, thanks! And are you talking about the sprites? I just use MS Paint for that - it's all pixel art. Now, are my sprites the best thing on Earth? No. But it gets the job done =3

this is going to take a while, so you can skim it if you want. x3 and it turned into more of a lecture than a redline, sorry. ;A;
so for my redline, i decided to compare figures with yours, so don't take any offense. D: it was because i'm too stupid to actually figure out that a regular redline would be much simpler. but i got bored and did one at the end. x3 so i totally understand if you skip down to the very bottom. xD;;
i used your girl, since i'm much too lazy to learn how to make dynamic! poses. (:
and if one can't handle me saying things like "nipple" or "crotch", i suggest you don't read what i have to say. :/
number one so first, is anatomy. or the really really basics of anatomy. on the left, over your drawing in dark blue, is the wire-frame i was able to get of your girl. if you count my little nicks, the girl is only about five and a quarter heads tall, which is... a little shorter than what someone would be normally.
use the eight-head count. a person, on average, is about eight heads count (sometimes seven). almost every artist uses this rule, and when in any figure drawing class, you learn it right away. i'll simplify it and give it to you: one head to the chin. two heads to the nipple. three heads to the elbow//waist//navel four heads to the crotch. five heads to just above mid-thigh. six heads to around the knee. seven heads to mid-calf. eight heads to the bottom of the foot. one head each for the arm "sections" the hand is three-quarters of a head. (i went a little off on the scale, mybad. x3)
then i angle out the shoulders. this was made by using your hip-line that you had set up. the angle of the shoulders are always opposite the hips, never parallel. in your drawing, your shoulders were straight, while your hips were a little off. and as a little note, shoulders and hips tend to be the same "size" in women. if you draw a vertical line from the shoulder, one would more or less come near the hips.
then, find the pit of the neck (explained later), and draw the gesture line, which would the the line from the pit of the neck, down to the navel and through the crotch. i kind of fiddled around with your pose, so sorry about that too. o3o;; this is going to be the guideline for your torso.
you should next start blocking in shapes. the ribcage, pelvis, the breasts, and then connect the ribcage and the pelvis. for the pelvis, i usually use two circles, since that also helps figure out where the crotch is as well. the breasts always go just above the second "head" line, and i just sketch in quick circles.
the legs are a little harder. usually, i just draw the really simple wireframes, circles for the knees, and then lines for the bones. i won't go into the muscles of the legs, since they're really hard, but always remember that the leg tapers down, and it's never straight. study your own leg if you want. (:
the same for the arms.
number two **naked body! o: next, i gave the body contours. as you can see, i edited things as i drew, so things don't all match up with the sketch.
i didn't really need to outline everything, but i wanted to give you a quick list of the important landmarks on the body that you should always remember. well, not always, but if you include them in your drawings, they tend to help make things more lifelike and less shapeless, since these are parts that the human eye recognizes, only the rest of the people are much too lazy to remember them all, like art people need to. ;3;
the pit of the neck is where your collarbone, or clavicle, dips in. this is where tendons that start at the back of your ears meet, as well. there's another dip i forgot to show, but you have these "holes" right above and below your clavicle near your shoulder. where your clavicle and shoulder meet, there's a little bump--i don't know if you can see it behind the hair. P:
in the abdomen, in a person without too much fat, you can see the furrow that circles the abs to indicate both muscles and the ribs. lower down, you see that the hips aren't smooth. the pelvis bone causes there to be a little bump, which is more obvious in women, since we get to have bigger hips.
number three
this one is really simple, i sketched out the clothes on top of the sketched body. i think i started getting a little lazy here. ;3;
number four
so i gave the picture the full outline, getting rid of everything i had underneath. lessen up the wrinkles and folds on clothes, especially when the body underneath is smooth--like the thighs. i couldn't tell what kind of clothes most of them were, so i kind of... improvised. sorry. o3o
this was really sloppy, and it was on the tablet, so i couldn't draw like i usually do (hail the pencil!), but i'll give you a tip. draw slowly. draw slowly and with one line. or as few lines as possible. your lines will become clearer and much more cleaner.
and never be afraid to draw reference lines and sketches. for the face, divide it up into sections with a vertical line going through the middle, and then horizontal lines to show where the eyes, nose and mouth lie.
the real redline. SO. i just gave your girl a quick re-wire-frame-thing, and numbered where i changed most things. it's not following the eight-head rule, but you get the gist of it.
one pull back the cranium. if you look at the profile of the skull, you can see that it's actually pulled back quite a ways. you end up seeing this later in pictures and things if the heads are even just a little off center. and i think your head was a little angled, but i'm sorry if it wasn't. D:
two your face was a little tilted compared to everything else. like i said before, a quick sketch like i have can be done in less than five seconds but it makes drastic improvements on your drawings.
three ack. the left shoulder (my redline) is a little off, but i think you can see what i'm getting at. the shoulder doesn't slope down like that. it actually has some muscle, and is round.
four even if you don't execute the eight-head rule, a hand should never be that low. when standing up straight, an average person's fingertips touch their mid-thigh and their wrist is around where their crotch ends.
five even in still, standing poses, people still tend to show their personalities through with simple poses. i just tweaked the legs//calves a little, and already she's a different person. if that makes any sense. if you can never understand how to make a pose, i suggest standing up and trying the pose yourself in a full-length mirror or take a picture of yourself. it helps a lot, trust me. o3o
six the hips should be wider and rounder.
ahaha. sorry about the length. D: but i hope i helped, at least a little. x3

First off, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I always knew of the heads thing, but I never really knew how it worked or anything. This is going to help me so much in the future! Thank you again!
Second, I don't mind the lecture at all. Everything I've learned has been on my own, seeing as my art teachers in school don't have the time of day and my mother refuses to pay for art lessons - I think it's more that she doesn't want to totally nurture this, though. She disapproves of me going to art school. So thanks again! I've learned a lot in here!
Third... Well, I guess there isn't a third, except that I really appreciate you doing this for me. =3 You're an awesome artist! I'll do my best to improve with everything you've shown me.
EH HEH. The clothes. Um, well, I know the bottoms are jeans, but I never... had a set idea in my mind when I drew it. I just kind of drew. OOPS! That's something I need to fix in the future. =P

haha, no problem. x3 glad i helped. (:
ah, i know how you feel on that aspect. my mom refuses that i go to art schools since its too expensive of a profession. but i managed to talk her into letting me go to a free art program at some art university. hopefully it'll help convince her that i can do this. Cx and hopefully you can too. (: /crosses fingers
ah, i'm not ~that good. D: i have room for improvements too. o3o but again, glad i could help. xD i was afraid all i was typing was junk. x3
haha, dont' worry. xD i never think through what i'm drawing. although, one of my art instructors--at that free art thing-- tells me that art is an intellectual process and that i need to think! so i need to work on that too. ;A;

....Ohhhh what the hey I'll put it up. It's the first thing I've really finished in a while.
It's actually my half of a trade with our dear Tealiara. I finally finished it right after Christmas. Boo yah. Put it up on DA, she's already seen it, along with anyone else who keeps an eye on my DA, which is no one... Yep.
There are parts I do not like. I just wanted to get it done by the end. I sketched it out, like... last month, sometime, maybe October. I don't remember.
I haven't done much lately. Life is crazy. This should probably go in Absences.
Wrr.

So, this isn't finished stuff. But I wanted to scan it and put it up SOMEWHERE before I destroyed it started linearting and coloring. It's my *new* audition for PCBC2. My old one is Andi's new picture on her character profile. Kinda glad I have the opportunity to start over, there were too many things about the old one I didn't like, but kinda mad at the same time. Oh well.
Aaaand here are some detail shots that'll help the other contestants (if I make it) with anything they need clarification on. The one of Norah's butt is crap, it was like 2:30 AM and my eyes were starting to unfocus, so I'll probably redo it before finishing it. Dunno if I'll color all of these.
(That crappy thumb is there because the kid I was sitting next to in class while I was drawing this stuck his thumb on the paper and asked me to draw it. So I humored him.)
Yeaaaah I'll get back to important things now, like finishing this stupid thing (I have to finish my audition comic, too. Three pages. Gahhh. If you guys want to see the WIP of that too, say so, but I doubt it), responding to October, playing Platinum, and homework. But that last one's not very important.

Awesome detail shots =D Very helpful~ Though I'm still a bit confused on your hat. Do you have like a puffball there or is that a ponytail? I'd imagine it would be much more obvious once it's coloured, but I need to know seeing you're making your debut in my second page lD; Which, btw, if I don't finish sketching this week shoot me with something.
Also, apparently there needs to be a separate ref sheet featuring the Pokemon. I'm thinking your's may count though, but I'm not terribly sure so you may want to ask. I need to make one of those ;-; Eh. Forget Flynn's class, I'm just going to be doodling PCBC stuff during it I suppose.
And I'm loving Norah's butt-bow and our Drifloon's need to be friends lD; Also, I'm stealing your Dewgong because apparently a Dragonair/Dewgong hybrid thing is my Pokesona according to Jake.

OMG PCBC. i should work on it. PEEEEER PREESSURE, ANDI.
omg i love all the details and it's amazing and gaaaaah. D: can't wait to see this complete! :D i definitely did not think through my character that well. xD BUT WHY YES I'D LOVE TO SEE YOUR AUDITION~ c:
and i ~think that counts in terms of the whole ref-including-pokemon thing. some people only have sprites, so... o:

I need a---?!
a;sldkjf;lkasdjfasd.
It is about to get REAL up in this mother.
ffft the whole dang reason I made a new one is because of their rule that all of the Pokemon had to be in the ref to make it easier on the judges. Which I get. But my Pokemon are not all that detailed. Just a few things here and there that people can see in my auditions/entries or can ask me about if they REALLY care that much which they probably won't.
Schanyway. That is a puffball, m'dear. It's the same as with the other ref, now conveniently found on Andi's profile and on DeviantArt. I may use the image from this new audition after all this PCBC nonsense, I like it a lot more. I will not shoot you, and fffft Flynn's class. It is SUCH a joke.
Noooo I made Selene less than twenty-four hours ago! You can't take her now! XD And I guess that means I have to figure out a personality for my Driftloon, then. PS, her name's Kim. Figure that one out. =)
PEER PRESSURE REX PEER PRESSURE. Heee. Thank you, dear~ Not better than yours, though. It's easier for me, since mine's a representation of myself - or rather, what I WISH I was. And I was afraid the detail shots would be a little much, glad to know they're liked =) I figured your character (I can't remember her name for the life of me, PLEASE FORGIVE ME) would appreciate the hemp jewelry thing, and you KNOW that if we face each other I'm bringing it up. Oh yesss.
HURR MY AUDITION. I'll get to it. Promise. I wanna work on it a little more before putting it up, finish sketching the second page at least.

So. Yeah. I know that I'm SUPPOSED to put up my audition pages next. And I've totally been working on that, promise. It may only be a teeny-tiny bit, but I've worked on it! But, well. I started making these banners for my Lab Aides' character sheet thingies, and my dear Liz requested banners for Wade and for Serenity. So I decided to use the images Liz put on Wade's page to make an attempt at his, at least. Or, as it was, two attempts. I don't know which one I like better. If I like either. =/ Liz, let me know what you think. The second one won't stretch the board, I didn't know if that was a problem since you have the tables but yeah. And if there's anything you want changed or different, or if you have different pictures and would rather I used them, just let me know! I'll be glad to meet your needs =)
