i haven't been posting, but i've kind of been stalking this thread. xD
here i go, with enough courage to finally post.

For the sprite tournament, one of the rounds was trainer sprites, and each pairing got assigned a "prompt". The prompts were Mystery, Magic, Majestic, and Monster, the last of which I got. So I went to work creating a Monster Trainer, who turned out to be the Pokemon-equivalent of Medusa, with Ekanses for hair. :3



So far I'm undefeated in the tournament! (:

The next round is to create a sprite that is over 100x100 pixels in size (the maximum in-game size is 80x80 for those of you who don't know, and rarely do sprites get that big) which is something I've never really done before. On top of that, the sprite has to appear like a Legendary of a certain type. For my pairing, I got assigned the Rock Type, and here's what I've come up with.



I hate the shading, but I think the positives outweigh the negatives and I should be able to win.

Ogrotto - The Stone Giant Pokemon
[Ogre + Grotto]
Type: Rock
Ability: Solid Rock
Wild Hold Item: Heat Rock
Highest Stats: Defense, Attack
Lowest Stats: Speed, Special Attack

It is believed that its snoring is the cause of earthquakes, and some researchers believe it may be distantly related to Regirock and the rest of the Regis. I just didn't wanna have to post first... But yes, lovely. Same with the monster. And I kinda wish they could've Ogrotto in HGSS *wants a gigantor monster dude stalking him, and causing mini-'quakes with every step*

I'm also loving the medusa xD She has a lot of personality and the hair is awesome <3 Seriously, medusas have it made. No matter where they go they'll have their little pets with them.

And the legend is neat as well! Though I'll admit it certainly takes some getting used to with a sprite that big xD

I'm glad you like the Medusa and the TC Ayra :3 The legend, meh. It doesn't matter if I win that round or not, I already have enough points to qualify for the next section of the tournament.

Me too, it's one of my favourite sprites I've made. As for any connection to Digimon, it was supremely unintentional - perhaps unconscious. I used to be an avid fan (circa the first 2 seasons only) so if it was included in those seasons to a small extent it probably has been floating in the dark, damp regions of my twisted mind, and made itself known in this sprite xD Like I said, it was unintentional. I'll have to look into it.
