forgotten mansion
Deep amongst the gnarled trees and dark canopies lies an ancient homestead that once flourished with activity. Now however, the entire home has fallen into disrepair and became 'condemned'. Shutters are falling from the windows and dust lies on everything... however, that doesn't mean to say it hasn't become the home of Pokemon, or perhaps even, other 'visitors' as well...
It has been many years since the last living inhabitants of the manor walked the halls, but it is a common belief that their spirits still tread the long unused corridors, terrifying any that choose to take refuge from the forest within the house. Perhaps you may see them?_ __ ___ ________________________________ ___ __ _
mansion layout_____________
Generally just used to describe the overground shrubbery that grows wild in the area around the main porch where the mansion stands. It is possible these lands were once beautiful and well-groomed, but over the years have become rather unkempt and wild. Weeds are common in the long-dead flower gardens, and much of the landscaping has been covered in vines and ivy. Some believe the bodies of the old owners are buried somewhere on these ground but, well, it's possible that's just superstition as well.
basement floor
The basement is accessible through a wooden door to the side of the house, though can also be reached through one of the doorways on the first floor. It is dark and damp, with cobwebs stretching from almost all nooks and crannies. A few shelves host old wines, which are covered in dust from the ages. The only light is from a dim, flickering light bulb that hangs from the ceiling, and it looks like that's about ready to go out at any moment. Chains can be seen coiled in the corners of the basement, giving it an almost medieval feel, though who knows if they were actually used or not... and if they were, for what.
first floor - entrance hall
The first room you see should you choose to enter through the main doorway, the entrance hall is a relatively large room with old, dusty carpets cast across the wooden floor. The lights that line the walls have long burned out, limiting the viability to only what light may appear through the dust-streaked windows or by an intruder's means. A double staircase leads to the higher floors, and several doorways branch off of this hall, one of which leads to the basement below.
first floor - living room
Despite the long years of dust and cobwebs that has accumulated on the ornate couches and chairs of this room, the living room still holds a certain grandness to it. A fireplace remains empty and dark against a far wall, and shelves of china can be seen in the darker corners; dulled by the dust that has since settled there. The floor boards beneath the fine carpet generally creak loudly in protest whenever someone walks in, as if warning them to leave, but who knows what secrets this room may still hold, and just what sort of histories. Curiously... a few dark stains have seeped into some of the rugs and furniture. Simply wine stains, or something else?
first floor - dining room
Curiously enough, the table seems to be set and ready for a meal as you walk into the dining room. However, a thick layer of dust lays upon the plates and silverware, and cobwebs stretch between the wine glasses to show that a meal is not being enjoyed by whatever still resides here. Some of the ornate chairs are knocked over, and the chandelier overhead generally swings ominously; almost as if it is letting you know that you are never alone in this haunted house.
first floor - kitchen
The kitchen must have, at one point, played host to any number of cooks for it is extremely large. Pots and pans lay in neat piles upon the island counter situated in the middle of the room, and knives hang in a well-organized manner along the walls. A sink, stove, and other such necessities can be seen as well, though they are fairly outdated compared to the more modern features of the outside world.
first floor - grand ball room
A magnificent, open room that may have, at one point, been a wondrous location of parties of all kinds. Unfortunately, the dust that has built up over the years dampens its great splendour. The chandeliers up above are dark and withdrawn, and dust leaps at every foot step. Even the great windows cannot be gazed from. However, some people say, a ghostly maiden still dances here, awaiting a partner that never came.
first floor - downstairs guest bedroom
The downstairs guest bedroom was once an extravagant and beautiful room. The family that once resided here really spared no expense when it came to any guests that graced their home. An elaborate king-sized bed dominates the far side of the room, though its covers have long been coated in dust, and various other luxuries such as a small, four person pool (now long emptied) are visible throughout.
first floor - greenhouse
The greenhouse is, surprisingly enough, actually not located on the grounds surrounding the mansion but rather is a part of the mansion itself and creates a sort of indoor courtyard inside. Despite the long years of disrepair, the plants located in here still flourish and have long become overgrown, twirling up the walls and through the rafters in a never ending web. Some people claim the plants can come to life and ensnare any that choose to wander into this room unprepared, but surely that is not possible. After all, they're just plants.
second floor - library
A wide expanse of shelf upon shelf filled with the most exotic titles and heavily bound volumes is what greets those that choose to enter the library. Most of the shelves are extremely dusty from such a long period of no use, but the books still seem to have held together quite well. Arm chairs and tables are littered throughout the room, along with a flameless hearth to show that this was once a room of comfort and relaxation. Of course, you can still read the books if you wish. Who knows what secrets they may hold.
second floor - master bedroom
If the occupants of this home were extravagant with their guests, they were even more so in their own rooms. The master bedroom hosts not only an expansive room with a king-sized bed and a dusty fountain, but also a massive walk-in closet and a full bath. Mirrors seem to dominate a fairly large portion of the room, one wall entirely made up of them which only creates the illusion of a much larger chamber. Dust, like everywhere else, is unavoidable here, and you can hear the sounds of Pokémon as they skitter away from any intruders.
second floor - upstairs guest bedroom
Like the one on the first floor, the upstairs guest bedroom is quite ornate. Though it seems to be more fit for a single person rather than many. The bed clothes are array, showing that perhaps someone had been staying here before whatever fate occurred befell the family.
second floor - bath
A large, ornate room, the mansion's bath is larger than even a fair sized living room. Three sinks line the walls, crowned with large, ornate mirrors, and the bath itself seems to be more of a small pool than anything else. Tile lines the floors in patterns of white and silver, and a distinct, fragrant scent permeates the air even after years of disregard.
attic
The attic is extremely large and expansive, but at the same time the boards moan with age and dust floats heavily in the air. Storage boxes are scattered carelessly about, and it seems like several holes have appeared in the old wood. You had best tread with care! It is a long fall if you happen to drop through one of the holes. And what's that? A... scratching noise?[/ul]
