[/color] Matt whispered, squatting down to level with the fox, who lazily opened one of his big, amber eyes and glared at the young man, "I need to pack my stuff, mate. The boat's stopping and we need to get off. Please, get off my sweater?"

A small snort from the Vulpix was Matt's reply, the Fire type burying his head further into the nice, warm fabric of the man's sweater. Matt rolled his eyes, resisiting the urge to hit his head against something before pushing himself back to his feet. If only Tease was awake...She seemed the only one Aidan seemed to have some respect for, she would be able to get him off his sweater in no time. Unfortunately, she was still fast asleep, curled up under the covers of the bed they had been forced to share during their journey to Lanorae.

...Well...Unfortunately, forced...Matt wasn't so sure if he could call it that.

"So you decided that letting me sleep was a good idea, huh?" said Tease as she slung her backpack over her shoulders, "Until they called the last oppertunity to leave the boat, after which we still had to pack all our stuff,"

"...Yeah, that about sums it up,"

"You're an idiot,"

A small smile played on the blonde's lips as she gave her friend a sideway glance, tying up her somewhat messy hair as the two of them left the harbor of Konika Village. Despite having but a few minutes to get dressed and ready to leave the boat, Tease looked fairly well-dressed; her light blue T-shirt was clean, as were her jeans. Her hair was probably the only exception to the rule, along with her untied boots, but she couldn't bring herself to care all that much about that at the moment.

"You're a bigger one," said Matt with a smile, looking back at his companion who poked out her tongue as a reply. Shaking his head, the male pushed his hands into the pockets of his pants and followed Tease further down the road.

"Where'd you leave Aidan, then?"

"His Pokéball," the girl spoke, "He's better of sleeping there than on your sweater, anyway,"

Matt gave a small nod in agreement, before aiming his attention ahead of him, his head tilted slightly to the side in wonder. He came to a stop, and a few steps later, Tease followed his example, an eyebrow raised as she looked back at him.

"What's up?"

"I was just wondering," the male started, somewhat thoughtfully rubbing the few small hairs on his chin, "Why we're going this way whan the biggest building in town in over there,"

After Matt's startling discovery, it took the duo a few minutes to make their way to the correct structure, the Lanorae Region Laboratory. His excitement having grown with seemingly each step he took in the building's direction, Matt arrived first at the Lab's doorstep, having already knocked on the door when Tease arrived by his side.

"Look who suddenly got all happy,"

"...Not a word, Tease. Seriously, not a word,"[/ul][/ul][/size]

[BIC] : A knock sounded at the door as the sparks filled the air in a series of tiny neon blue stars, sounded pretty when you weren't someone who did the same sort of work every day. The Pokeball was not one of the normal range, part of Zane's work was to develop new items for the hopeful newcomers to Lanorae. His current focus was the Pokeball of blue with a sort of white haze decoration to it.

Using the inspiration of past Pokeball designers and in a specific light the Pokeball that works better on water Pokemon, Zane had decided to develop a three ball series of his own. This set was made up of a ball great for catching Pokemon in the water, a second great for catching ground living Pokemon and then a third specifically suited for Pokemon of the sky which for some reason he had decided to start on first.

'I hope these take on,' whispered Zane as he flicked his deep blue hair, it was always getting in his eyes which was of much amusement to some of the other aides. During the flick he realised the desk was in dire need of a cleaning, prototype pieces sprawled the length of the desk as fanta bottles played the game "the little one said" as one after the other was replaced before falling to the ground, fanta really is a delicious drink...

A knock sounded at the door as he put his welding tools down and listened. No door opening sound resounded off the walls, just another knock. 'Don't worry yourselves I'll take it,' mumbled Zane to himself in a way to insult the other aides though none could hear him. As he walked he noticed the stock shelves were slowly diminishing, the trainers must've come in droves to take this many Pokemon. He looked sadly upon some of the rows, it seemed the trainers were very much taken to the Lanorae starters, very few had taken a Pokemon that was common overseas. Those Pokemon not taken were all happy, however, as he watched them bounce around playfully with one another in the back garden.

Upon reaching the door he attempted to fix up the white coat he had just that second slipped on, he much preferred to dress casually unless made to do otherwise such as for the introduction of new trainers to the world of Pokemon. Opening the door slowly, the intruding light of the outdoors did not reveal one but in fact two trainers, a boy and a girl standing side by side. 'Please come in,' directed Zane as he waved the new trainers through the door 'What Pokemon would you be looking for to start out with?'

Semi-innocent, the blond looked up, her head cocked slightly to the left and her eyes meeting those of her companion, "That's my name, yeah,"

"You're poking me," Matt stated in a rather matter-of-fact tone, crossing his arms over his chest. Tease could hardly contain her giggles any longer, but managed to swallow them just long enough. She had just opened her mouth to come up with a witty reply when the door to the Laboratory swung open, revealing a man in the doorway. Tease's cheeks turned slightly pink as she closed her mouth, and decided that her shoes were a lot more interesting all of the sudden.

"She means 'hi'," said Matt with a grin, gently slipping his hand into that of his friend, and tugging her inside after Zane had invited them in, "Thank you, sir,"

"Y-yeah, thanks,"

A small smile curved Matt's lips, the male gently squeezing Tease's hand for comfort. She was horrible around new people, that he knew, but she really had to snap out of it right now, not caring how cute and adorable it was and how much he liked watching her blush like she did and ARGH.

'Note to self: being in love is not fun. Not at all'

Both teens seemed to more or less snap out of their own line of thought as Zane started to ask about their choice in Pokémon. Her cheeks pink still, Tease managed to pull a small booklet and quietly began skimming the pages, searching for the information she needed. When she found it, the blond aimed her eyes up at the man that had opened the door for them, a rather curious look in them.

"Is, uh...Is it true that Lanorae h-has native Pokémon you can choose for a partner?"

"Native Pokémon? How're you supposed to...Eh, I guess I'm just old school like that," Matt started, his voice soft as if trying not to interrupt Tease. The blond gave her friend a gentle prod with her elbow, an action which he responded to with a roll of the eyes.

"What? I was just suggesting that maybe we should ask about other options before making a decision, Tease,"[/ul]

[OOC] : That's fine Liz, sorry I didn't reply straight away I've been a little busy... and hurt thanks to a certain nurse. x3

[BIC] : 'Well, that's right we do have native Pokemon to Lanorae as starters,' replied Zane with a flick of his hair 'And then we also have a lot of Pokemon common to other regions which are, in my opinion, a lot more interesting to choose. I've felt rather bad having to try and keep them happy while new trainers keep coming in and just choosing Lanorae natives.'

Zane went to fetch a brochure for them, perhaps showing them this may persuade just one person to pick a non Lanorae Pokemon he thought as he turned round to face them once more. Flicking through the pages he attempted to find the two he was looking for.

'Alright, here are the seemingly popular three starters of Lanorae.' mumbled Zane as he showed them the page.

[/color] he said, a small nod confirming the fact, "I've got a little experience with Flying Types already, so I guess this'll work out,"

The male then directed his attention to his friend, whom he gave a rather gentle, playful prod with his elbow, "What about you, Tease?"

"I don't know..." the blond mumbled, gently rubbing her chin in a thoughtful fashion, "It looks incredibly tempting to choose a native Pokémon. I mean, where else to get them but here, right?"

Tease paused for a moment, using her time to take a deep breath, "But on the other hand, we know more about the common Pokémon, so you could say they're easier to raise, in a way...And I do sort of want to own a snake Pokémon once,"

"...Please, no snakes. They scare me,"

"Everything scares you," Tease giggled, brushing a strand of her blond hair behind her ear, "Uhm...But I think I'll have a...A Seaward, please. I'm sorry, sir,"[/size][/ul][/ul]

Zane could see in the girl's eyes that she didn't approve of his somewhat biased approach. 'I'm sorry,' he muttered with his head down 'You have no idea how hard it is for me to explain to the Pokemon why they aren't being chosen and even then I don't give them the truth it would break their hearts,' finished Zane with what looked to be the slightest trace of a tear trailing the contours of his face. He was, however, delighted when the boy decided to go with Natu and picked one of his favourites to accompany him. The girl then picked a Seaward, easily the favourites of the three Lanorae Pokemon and Zane reluctantly retrieved a Seaward from out back.

Emerging from out back a few moments later, Zane held out two arms respectively. One for Matt and the other for Tease.

[/color] she said, still holding on to the Pokéball he had given her, "I'm sure there'll be a day you won't have to explain to those Pokémon why they're not being chosen, and they'll get the owners they deserve,"

"Maybe I gave a jumpstart," Matt added with a playful grin, crossing his arms in front of his chest rather proudly. A giggle escaped his companion, and she gently prodded him shortly after.

"Don't let it go to your head, silly,"

"Might be a tad too late now, Tease,"

After that, the duo bid Zane goodbye, and turned to leave the Laboratory behind. Route 1 was next on their list, and lucky not that far away, but it didn't matter. They were Trainers now, with Pokémon to keep them company, and of course, they always had eachother.[/size][/ul]
