Hey guys! I know there hasn't really been much of an update from me lately, though I definitely have some good news! Thanks to a code I found in the Proboards Support FAQ, I can now have different CSS and various image coding for different skins, meaning that we can (and are) going to be a multiple skin site once more.[/b] : Due to popular demand, the into the ABYSS skin is making a return. It features a blue ocean-styled colour scheme with an Abyssal Lugia/Rune Pokemon theme. The top of the forum border will feature a scene of underwater ruins.
I know some people have had difficulty seeing the site on the current skin as it can be a bit dark on darker monitors, so we're going to have a varied availability again.
Also, I did figure out how to implement external CSS style-sheets for different skins (for people not familiar with the lingo, basically coding that's hosted on another site, in this case a Freewebs, that can be linked to and will take effect when it is), meaning that most of the css coding will be off the site, which should cut down on loading time.
In addition, this will also make creating skins so much easier, as I can simply plug in the tag for each area of the site into the CSS and quick edit it on the Freewebs, rather than having to go through the skin creator here, change something, refresh, rinse and repeat if it doesn't look right. Instead all the editing is done in Notepad, just a quick upload to the Freewebs, and I can stay on the main page and just hit F5.
Unfortunately, the only available style switcher code for Proboards has been removed, and while I can make my own, with the code for switching coding based on skins I'm using now and that, loading time would be horrendously worse than it already is, so we're going to have to stick with the modify profile way, though I will make a thread with screen shots of the skins so people can see what they look like without having to do the whole profile --> modify profile --> select skin thing through all of them.
Now then, just to give you a preview of the skins that are planned, our current list is as follows:
» Industrial Utopia : Our current skin. It will have this colour scheme (or one very close to it) and will be Steampunk themed. Its head border image will feature a Steampunk city scene with a Pidgeot flying overhead.
» memoirs of the P A S T : A lighter skin that will be mostly beige/tan and will focus around Lanore and Kiel Shiloh as they appeared during the voyage over. Therefore, it will be another ocean-y theme, just focused above the water rather than under it. Border header is undecided.[/ul]
Of course, if you have any skin requests now is the time to make them. Please note that not all skins will be made before Lanorae's revival (if they were Lanorae would never be revived lD;), and actually, very few will be, though all the same make them now so that I may plan the coding accordingly. I can change it afterwords, though now's just easier.
Regarding the site itself, I have been working on a lot of stuff outside the site regarding it. Therefore, a lot of the needed information is written down on my tablets, I just need to transfer it to online. Seeing with the new multi-skin thing specific skin-images in each information thread will not be able to be used, that will also cut down on time.
Though I will have to go back and alter tables accordingly, but seeing we didn't get too far with those yet it won't take long.
Before I end this post I would just like to thank everyone for hanging tight through these updates <3 I really appreciate all your support and willingness to stick with me through it. I assure you that once the revamp is completed I will find some way to thank all of you properly.
