Name: Artemis Seigi
Nickname: Art, Artie
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Occupation: Trainer
Appearance: Artemis stands at 5'9" tall with moderate to light brown hair. It's about shoulder length and varies from straight, to feathered, to combed back. His eyes are brown, but flecked with purple. The purple is subtle and can really only be seen in certain light or if one is up close to Artemis.
He dresses nicely enough. He is not a fashionista, but he does have a full wardrobe. Usually he wears some form of a t-shirt (button up, regular, so on) and shorts. On occasion he can be found wearing suits, athletic clothing, or some casual jeans, but he usually wants to be comfortable.
He is of Latin (possibly Mexican, Puerto Rican, etc) and Japanese decent. Thus his eyes and complexion have taken that of the Asian side of him while his skin tone is a bit more tan.
Personality: Artemis is generally personable. It can take some time for him to get used to someone or for someone to get used to him. He is usually soft spoken and seems to hide his emotions until he gets to know people. He has a good sense of humor that he tries not to express to often- laughing at a prat fall is perfectly fine to him, but he'd rather not have anyone see him doing so.
He is very kind to his Pokemon and also to the Pokemon of those he meets. He tries to carry a few extra Berries or Items for trainers who need them, never expecting anything for them. If his Pokemon lose a battle he tends to smile, nurture them, and pay respect to the winning trainer.
From holding in so many "louder" emotions for so long he can tend to have outbursts. If someone underestimates him or tries to do him wrong he tends to fly off the handle. He knows how to calm down, but it may take a while before that happens.
He also has a strong sense of justice. If law breakers are about, he's going to try to make sure to set them right. He hopes to try and become a police officer or a lawyer one day.
History: Artemis was born in Sinnoh to a police officer father and a shop owner mother. His parents live happily in Hearthome while Artemis goes about the world training Pokemon and seeing the sights. He loves his parents dearly and has learned a lot from them. He got his sense of justice from his father and how to buy and sell from his mother.
Artemis watched his father bust criminals from an early age, easily becoming fascinated by it all. He loved seeing criminals being locked up and having stolen Pokemon or goods returned to their owners. At school he was always nominated for hall monitor or class officer jobs and would often play the classic cops and robbers game with his friends.
When he started to get older he got a job at the Hearthome Contest Hall. He helped trainers backstage with their accessories, handled registrations, and put up the photos of the winners. In doing so he learned how to care and nurture for Pokemon by the contest hall staff and the trainers who came by to compete. It was there that he realized that to be a solid, well rounded person he would have to travel the world with Pokemon.
He pulled out an atlas when he finished with high school and looked around at where he would start his journey. Kanto looked interesting, Johto seemed nice, Hoenn had a nice look to it, and Sinnoh was what he knew, but Lanorae seemed like a much more fun place to start. His parents wanted him to start in Sinnoh, but Artemis was bent on trying somewhere new first. After a few days of pro and con lists, research, and discussion his parents finally let him go...
