The time to get to Lanorae from where she had been had taken a few days, and a few switches from normal boats and sail ones into a steam ferry. The extra time had been convenient, however, for the girl had extra time to learn more about Lanorae and its story. How the region was discovered was really a heart warming, and at the same time a sad, story -- and the brunette couldn't help but feel happy at knowing that the Captain had such a strong bond with his Pokemon.
"I really hope I can form a bond that strong with mine as well."
She smiled, watching as teh sillouhette of the region came closer and closer, and bigger. Finally the ferry docked, and excitedly she exited. She took a few minutes, looking left and right everywhere, trying to absorb the many details of the town. Their technology was said to be steampunk -- meaning that most of their machienery depeded on steam to work, and it gave the whole place a rustic and old feel.
Kind of like stepping into a time warp and being dropped back in time. It was definitely a pleasant change. "Let's see... According to the brochure the lab should be around here... Ah, there it is!" A smile brightened the nineteen year old's features as she dashed off in the right direction, her mind running over the possibilities for starters. After a long while of thinking in the ferry she had decided she wanted a Firecub -- though she would prefer to get a look at the ones the lab had at the moment before picking which one.
Reaching the door she worked to get her breathing in control, not from exhaustion but from excitement, before her hand folded into a mild fist and knocked a couple of times. Hopefully her age wouldn't be much of a surprise, seeing she was close to the twenties range now. Usually trainers started out along ten years to fifteen or sixteen years of age.
"Good morning~!"

"Nooo.... No. Damn it, no!"
A sigh escaping his lips, Wade hung his head in defeat, pushing aside the typewriter that stood before him on his desk. The black tape that was used for... something was sprawling out of the machine, and no matter how much he'd attempted to push it back in, nothing seemed to work. Not even glaring at it, but then again, what was magically fixed by glaring? Not the typewriter, not Abigail's foul moods...
"Times like these, I miss Sedonah. All that advanced technology..." [/b] the man mumbled, stretching his arms over his head lazily. The small, blue crocodile that was seated on the corner of his desk, previously having watched lint of somekind float down from above and keeping himself entertained by blowing it back up before it hit the floor now looked up, thoughtfully cocking his head to the right. "Toto?"[/b] "I know," Wade replied, as if he knew exactly what the water type had said. "All that advanced technology, and all we could use it for was warfare. Oh well. At least we had better typewri-... computers."[/b] The aide rubbed his tired eyes and pushed himself to his feat. As usual, Wade was a shabby mess; his hair was all over the place, his lab coat was unbuttoned nd the shirt he wore underneath had countless of wrinkles and folds in it, not to mention his necktie was half-undone. And, as usual, Wade couldn't quite care. Unlike most of the time, where this 'out of bed'-look was just that, him rolling out of bed and going to work, today it was the result of many hours of hard labour. Of course, until his typewriter keeled over and died. "C'mon Van. We're going for a walk~[/b] said Wade, a small smile playing on his lips, almost absently holding out his arm to the Totodile upon his desk. Instantly excited, Van leaped to his feet and sunk his teeth into the white fabric of his owner's lab coat before actually latching onto the man's arm. Maybe he had to teach the croc to actually... walk for himself next time. As the duo made their way towards the front door, to go for a walk on the beach not too far from the lab, a gentle knock on the front door caught Wade's attention. The aide breathed a sigh and again hung his head. Aww, no fair! On the one day he didn't have a hangover bugging him... 'Whyyyy... Meh. I bet this one wasn't you, God. It's probably Buddha. He's always laughing. Laughing at meee...'[/i] the man moaned to himself as he stumbled the last few steps towards the door, miraculously smiling again as he opened it. "Hello, and welcome to the... Hey. You don't look like a ten year old. Or... fifteen."[/b] he started, scratching the back of his neck once he actually got a look at the young woman outside. It was true, though, she did look older than the visitors he usually got. Generally in the age-range of ten to fifteen, with the occasional seventeen or eighteen year old. This one looked... early twenties? While Wade seemed to have forgotten all about his trip to the beach already, Van still seemed upset. The Totodile by now had climbed up to his Trainer's shoulders, where he stood, watching Rizu with his arms crossed over his chest, and a rather childish pout on his face. In other words, a usual welcome to professor Aspen's laboratory.[/blockquote][/font]

Ooc:// Short replies are short. DX
---
"Hello, and welcome to the... Hey. You don't look like a ten year old. Or... fifteen." "Yeah... Well, there isn't really an age restriction for becoming a Pokemon Trainer though, right?"
The female smiled, and embarrassed flush taking over her cheeks as she scratched the back of her head lightly. Really, she'd hoped she looked young enough to pass... Though then again she'd probably look eighteen at the most if she tried, which was still quite high up when the normal starting trainers were ten to fifteen. It didn't help that the aide was good looking, only making the girl more flustered and embarrassed. And then she noticed the Totodile.
"Oh, hi there cutie~! Want a treat?!"
She seemed to forget her embarrassment for the time being, searching in her small white waist-bag until she prodded out a small poffin. Her father was a breeder, and her mother a co-ordiator, so the girl had plenty to learn from on how to make these. That and her grandparents had given her a few to start of with and try to befriend Pokemons.
"Here you go, want a bite?"
She held it up to the Totodile, palm wide open and the small poffin residing in the middle of it. Hopefully it wouldn't bite her hand in the process, though the girl seemed quite oblivious to the fact that it was a possibility. After all, the Totodile did seem rather peeved.

Apparently there was something about him that made girls all embarrassed, or so Wade thought to notice. Maybe it was the way he smelled. Damn you, Axe commercials. Resisting the urge to lift one of his arms and take a quick whiff - who knows, maybe he was smelly today. Hard labour, remember? - the aide scratched the back of his neck, feeling somewhat awkward himself for having mentioned something about age. "No, no. No restrictions whatsoever. It's just, well... uncommon? I guess? I guess I'm not the one to talk," [/b] he concluded, a somewhat embarrassed chuckle escaping him. Wade made to take a step back, and allow Rizu entrance to the Laboratory, when the girl seemed to take a sudden interest in Van. The Totodile himself seemed equally as suprised, but quickly reminded himself of the fact this girl was depriving him of precious beach-time; shortly therafter did a pout dominate his features again. Weird human... first addressing him, and then turning to her bag and... "Toto! Diiile!"[/b] Van exclaimed in delight, as Riu produced a poffin from her bag. His Totodile's outburst startled Wade somewhat, and his attention flicked from the crocodile on his shoulder to Rizu and the treat in her hands. Buddha really was laughing at him today... With his first and foremost concern now to protect the new arrival from possible mental scarring (as well as physical, but eh.), Wade extended his hand to snatch the poffin from the girl's hands, at approximately the same time as Van jumping toward it, jaws open wide; Wade's triumphant 'ha!' turned into a more strangled, painful one as Van's jaws locked around both his hand and Rizu's. The approximate order of how it looked? Kind of like... Upper jaw, Wade's hand, Poffin, Rizu's hand, lower jaw. Grumbling curses under his breath to block out the sharp pain, the aide sent his Totodile a glare, to which the water type replied with a shrug. As was to be expected, Van made no attempt to get nor his owner, nor Rizu out of their current situation; he kind of hung there, suspended above the ground, jaws closed around both their hands like they were a rickety bridge over a deep, dangerous canyon. "Van, I bloody hate you,"[/b][/font][/blockquote]

"Toto! Diiile!" "Aww, you're so cu- EEEEEEEEEEEK!!!"
Seriously, how the girl hadn't guessed something like this might happen was beyond even Arceus' comprehension. Crocodile like Pokemon, easily excited, plus food lying in your palm couldn't be a good mix. As the Totodile just hung there, clasping both the aide's hand and her own, the female's eyes watered slightly from the pain.
"It huuuuuuurtssss... Waaaaaaaah!"
Apparently the pain was enough to actually make her bypass the fact that her hand and that of Wade were now against one another -- really, the small poffin in the middle wasn't much of a barrier -- though she probably wasn't giving the best of first impressions. Seriously, would it actually be alright for this twenty one year old to travel by herself across the region?
"Ooooww... Ooow- Oh!"
Her hand moved to the pocket where the previous poffin had been, taking out another one and waving it in front of the Totodile's eyes. She was hoping it'd get the attention of Van.
"Here boy, look! It's another poffin! Fetch~!"
With that she tossed the item as far away inside of the lab as she could, the poffin landing on the desk where the damaged typewriter lied now. Hopefully that would be enough to get Van distracted, and make him let go of their hands. The girl could scent the peculiar iron smell of blood, and no doubt those large fangs had punctured a few small holes in her hand -- and the hand of Wade.

Cursing his Totodile under his breath still, Wade managed pretty well not to give away that he was in pain. Sure, tears sprung into his eyes at first, but he'd been bitten by Van so many times before that the action hardly got any more out of him that perhaps exessive swearing. The girl, whose had was also being gnawed on, seemed not that, er... 'strong'? "D-don't worry," said Wade, his attempt to sound unaffected by the whole incident (Hey, he was a man and he'd been in the army after all!) not sounding half as convincing as he intended to. "He's just... let go... soon."
Instead of waiting for the croc to let go on his own, Rizu pulled a second Poffin from her pocket, and waved it around in front ot Van to get his attention. Upon spotting the tasty treat, Van excitedly began wagging his tail, his grip around the hands of both Rizu and Wade loosening. Once the girl had tossed the Poffin inside and onto Wade's desk, the water type let go of them completely and, with an excited cackle, waddled right after it.
Guwaaah, holy FRACK!" [/b] Wade heaved, waving his painful hand around, as if trying to shake the pain off. "Arceus I should consider getting him a muzzle... Are you alright?"[/b] Seemingly unfazed by the own puncture wounds on his hand and the blood that begun dripping from them, the aide turned to Rizu, carefully taking her hand to examine. "C'mon, I'll get you cleaned up. I can't send anyone out there like this... And you'll probably need a shot too. Who knows what else Van has chewed on in the past week..."[/b] The Totodile didn't respond to the mentioning of his name; he was already comfortable next to the busted typewriter, chewing on his Poffin rather loudly and turning away from Wade and Rizu as they approached, as if protective of the little snack. Wade rolled his eyes and motioned for Rizu to sit down on his chair, drawing a small first-aid kit from a nearby cupboard.[/blockquote][/font]

"Kyuuuuuu..."
Finally the croc has released their hands, the female rubbing her own softly as she examined the punctures left by the crocodile Pokemon. She wasn't used to being bitten by other things, so naturally this hurt like hell. Blood was beginning to ooze from the punctures, but thank Arceus it wasn't an incredible high amount. Still, the girl was quite certain she didn't want a Totodile. Ever.
"C'mon, I'll get you cleaned up. I can't send anyone out there like this... And you'll probably need a shot too. Who knows what else Van has chewed on in the past week..." Y-yeah... Ok."
Shots weren't really her favorite thing, she disliked needles with a passion -- but the aide was right. Getting a shot would be the best thing, just to make sure she didn't get sick from whatever bacterias that Totodile might be housing inside that mouth of his. Led over to the chair by Wade she sat gently on it, watching the Totodile with a mild fright in her eyes. Ah well, she couldn't really blame the little guy...
"I guess I should have asked you for permission before trying to feed Van... er... Actually, I don't even know your name." She just realized that, during this whole drama llama scene, they had forgotten to properly introduce themselves to one another. "I'm Rizu." She managed to pull out a small smile, the corner of her eyes still a bit moisten from her previous crying due to the pain.
Hopefully she hadn't given that much of a bad impression...

Wade quietly rummaged through the first aid kit, occasionally grumbling something about how it lacked certain items, compared to the kits he used to work with. He looked up only when Rizu spoke again, flashing the girl a small smile back. "Hey, don't worry. It happens... I shoulda told you he's chewy." [/b] he said, chuckling lightly, and obviously trying to make the best of the situation, picking bandages and tape from the first aid kit. "Wade. Sorry about the lousy first impression,"[/b] Having 'properly' introduced himself, the aide kneeled before the chair in which Rizu said, carefully taking her hand again to examine the damage that Van had done. Thankfully, his teeth hadn't penetrated the skin too deep; there wasn't going to be any physical scarring to her hand, and with some time the punctures would heal over nicely. That reminded him; Van sunk his teeth into his hand as well... Crap. "Abigail!"[/b] At the aide's call, a second Pokémon groggily made her appearance. After opening a door to their right, a Kangaskhan glared at her owner briefly, before seemingly noticing what had happened; the smell of blood wasn't that hard to miss. Abigail breathed a sigh and disappeared back into the room she came from, returning moments later with a small bowl with water, which she gently placed on the desk besides Wade's first aide kit. Van seemed somewhat insulted that his trainer hadn't asked him for water, but quietly finished eating his Poffin. "Thanks Abi,"[/b] Wade mumbled, grabbing a latex glove from the kit and slipping it on over his hurt hand. "Okay Rizu, I'm just gonna clean your hand first with some warm water, and then I'm gonna bandage it up. Wounds don't look to deep, you should be perfectly fine." he explained, dipping a corner of a tissue into the water on his desk, before gently dabbing Rizu's hand with it. There wasn't too much blood to be cleaned off, thankfully, and soon enough the girl's hand was neatly bandaged up and she was ready to go again. "There. Abigail here will go prep a shot for you. In the meantime, would you like something to drink? Calm down a little bit?" the aide inquired softly as he pushed himself to his feet, smiling at Rizu as he did. His Kangaskhan patted the girl's knee in a motherly fashion, like her species was known for, before taking off into another room, probably to prepare a shot like Wade had said she would.[/blockquote][/font]

"Oh, he's chewy alright..."
She couldn't help but giggle lightly at the small joke, watching the Totodile munch away at his poffin. Well, at least he did liked them. Still, as Wade suddenly called another Pokémon the girl jumped in her seat slightly -- startled. She watched as the Kangaskhan appeared, an annoyed expression in her face that soon turned to one of mild concern. Apparently she could guess what had happened.
"Oh wow, you have a Kangaskhan too?"
She watched as the Pokémon disappeared, before returning moments later with a bowl of water -- making a certain water type look mildly insulted for a few seconds. She listened to Wade's explanation of how he was going to handle the wounds and nodded in affirmation. Once or twice she winced from he damp cloth coming into contact with the punctures, but for the most part the girl remained to honorably endure the cleaning. Fresh wounds were so sensitive and stuff.
"There. Abigail here will go prep a shot for you. In the meantime, would you like something to drink? Calm down a little bit?" "I'm ok, I think the shock is starting to wear of- Wait, she's going to prepare the shot...?"
She had been watching her bandaged hand, moving it a bit to get used to the new feeling, before looking as the Kangaskhan patted her knee softly and smiling back in return. Abigail seemed really nice and caring -- though the girl hadn't seen an offspring in her pouch. Maybe the youngster was sleeping? Still, as she heard Wade and watched the Pokémon disappear she couldn't help but be surprised. A Kangaskhan was going to prepare her shot? Was that even safe?
She meant no offense of course to Abigail, but it was quite hard to imagine her fiddling around with a small needle and a tiny little bottle containing the vaccine. She only hoped the Kangaskhan got the dose right -- and that the needle wasn't bigger than the standard ones. Ugh, she hated needles...
"Oh, Wade! What about your hand? Do you need help cleaning it?" She'd just remembered the aide had also been munched on by the Totodile -- ad while he had taken care of her wounds she hadn't seen him treat his yet. Wasn't that a bit dangerous? "I mean, you helped me after all... So it'd only be fair for me to return the favor, right?"

"Uh, yeah,"
[/b] said Wade, scratching the back of his neck with his good had, feeling somewhat akward for no peticular reason. Or, well, there was actually; Abigail's origins were not something he liked to discuss. He couldn't blame Rizu for anything, however, and he concluded with a quick nod: "She used to belong to someone else, though."[/b] Thankfully everything seemed to cal- oh no, spoken to soon. Rizu seemed a little edgy about the fact Abigail was going to be in charge of getting her shot ready, and now that he thought about it, Wade had to agree himself that it sounded stupid, the way he said it. "Oh, no no no,"[/b] he said quickly, an apologetic smile playing on his lips. "Abi's gonna bring the stuff over so I can prepare the shot. Sorry, that came out wrong."[/b] It was probably the blood loss, Wade assured himself. He wasn't think strai- oh, right. It wasn't until Rizu mentioned his hand again that he actually remembered he hadn't checked himself up yet. While the puncture wounds were shallow, the glove he'd slipped around his injured hand was coloured more red than the original white, semi-transparent colour it had been previously. "I kinda forgot about that,"[/b] he mumbled, carefully peeling the latex from his hand and bringing said hand closer to his face, to inspect the damage. "Well, uh, if you don't mind. Shallow cuts, so a simple bandage like yours should do,"[/b] he replied as Rizu offered to clean his hand for him, smiling as he motioned to his first aid kit with his good hand. Around this time, Abigail returned, a plastic tray in her big hands on which a syringe and a bottle of antibiotics lay. She carefully set the tray up on Wade's desk as Rizu helped him look after his hand, tossing the latex glove he'd worn previously in the trash and stuffing a loudly protesting Totodile in her pouch for safekeeping. Van grumbled and trashed about for a bit, but eventually seemed to give up; perhaps he finally started to realize what damage he'd done. Bless the little thing.[/font][/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Ah, ok. I kinda got worried there for a second... I'm not too fond of needles, and well... Yeah, the thought of a Kangaskhan administering the vaccine sort of startled me. No offense to Abigail, of course."
As Wade finally seemed to realize that he was also injured the female couldn't help but chuckle softly. He agreed to her helping hand, and so she mimicked his previous actions. First she soaked a remaining clean cloth in some fresh water, cleaned the blood off the hand and the shallow holes, being careful not to press too much, and then proceeded to dry it off before gently wrapping it with bandages. Not too tight, not to loose, but just enough to keep them in place while still allowing the aid the use of his hand -- Rizu guessed he'd probably need it for all his assistant related jobs and chores.
As Abigail returned the girl had just finished, watching with slight fear the tray that sported the needles and stuff. Seriously, she was not fond of needles. But she guessed there was no way around, or out of, it. Turning to look at the Kangaskhan she watched as Abi placed Van in her pouch, much like a mother giving a child a Time Out. Considering the Totodile was placed there, the girl thought that maybe the Kangaskhan didn't had an offspring for now, though it wasn't impossible for them to have other Pokémon in their pouch along with their young -- just really rare.
"Well, all done! Though I'm guessing now I'm getting the shot, right?"
She was definitely anything but enthusiastic about said vaccine.

Wade was a big boy and sat through the cleaning of his wounds brilliantly. As he'd mentioned before, Van was rather chewy so injuries of this sort weren't uncommon on the male, and over time he'd learned to endure getting his wounds treated better. Of course, it helped that this time with wasn't Abigail treating him; the Kangaskhan did lack certain, more delicate movements of her arms and hands. That, or she employed her rough way of handling Wade as some sort of punishment for not paying more attention.
Once Rizu finished, Wade carefully moved his hand, and concluding with a smile that the girl had done a good job; his movement was only limited just a bit, not enough to stop him from using his hand in work again, which unfortunately included giving the poor, aspiring trainer a shot. "It's okay, I shoulda been more specific,"
[/b] said Wade with a quick nod, exchanging a look with Abigail to confirm she indeed took no offence. The Kangaskhan made herself comfortable after pulling up a chair, carefully placing a hand on Van's head to keep him still. She missed the presence of Whistler in her pouch, but Wade had ensured her she'd get her little baby back soon. Just a few regular check-ups and she had someone else to fill her pouch with. "Sorry,"[/b] mumbled Wade, feeling somewhat guilty for having to put Rizu through all of this. It was quite irresponsible to let her walk out without a shot, unfortunately; he preferred to avoid making people uncomfortable with needles unless he absolutely had to. After a sigh escaped his lips, the aide crouched down in front of Rizu as she sat in her chair, to get more on eye-level with her, and he gently put his hand on top of hers to make her feel more comfortable. "Just relax, and inhale through your nose. I'll try to get this over with as fast and good as I can, okay?"[/b] The shot was prepared, for real this time, shortly after Wade had pushed himself back to his feet; with the syringe in hand, he carefully bent over Rizu's arm and administrated the vaccin, gently pressing a small wad of cotton against the tiny puncture mark now left there before applying a bandage there as well. "And we're done."[/b] he sighed with relief. "I'm sorry I had to put you through that."[/b][/blockquote][/blockquote][/font]

Early twenties or not, she did not like shots. However, she was way past the age where she could act childish about it, so Rizu would just have to suck it up and take it like a grown-up. Sort of. "Sorry. Just relax, and inhale through your nose. I'll try to get this over with as fast and good as I can, okay?" Wade's words were quite comfortable and he was soooo hot and his hand resting upon her own reassured her slightly. She gave a nod, watching him return to a standing position as he prepared the needle.
"It's ok, if anything it's my fault... I should have asked before trying to feed a Pokemon with so many sharp teeth."
She watched him prepare the vaccine, grimacing ever so slightly at the sight every now and then, before turning her attention elsewhere -- she decided to watch Abigail interact with the now-stuck-in-her-pouch Totodile, Van. She certainly acted quite motherly, then again didn't most Kangaskhans act that way? The females, at least.
"Eeek..."
As she felt the needle pierce her skin she gave a faint reaction just slightly, her arm barely moving a n inch solely due to reaction than anything else. Once it was done, sterilized and bandaged the girl gave a sigh of relief, before the brunette looked to Wade and grinned. Well, it could have been worst -- at leas Wade seemed to know how to administer a vaccine efficiently, unlike other doctors.
"I'd offer to help you with yours... But yeah. I don't think I'd do it right, apart from having no experience and not liking needles to begin with..."
She offered him an apologetic smile in return. If she knew how, and wasn't so hell-bent on hating needles, she'd help him. But... Yeah.

Wade was happy to be done with the vaccine for Rizu. In all honesty, he wasn't fond of needles himself, and so he tried to avoid them as much as he could, but some occasions just required for them... Unfortunately, right now was one of those occasions. "Don't sweat it," the aide said with a smile, as Rizu mentioned wanting to help him with his, if only she didn't hate needles so much. "This is probably the third or fourth time this week Van thought it was a good idea to get my attention by biting I disagree..." He should really think about taping the little croc's mouth shut, now that he mentioned it...
"Anyways, seeing as you've now passed the audition,"
[/b] he continued, a hint of a grin curving his lips as he got back upright, and handed Abigail her tray with the used syringe back. "You were here for a starter Pokémon, so let's finally get to that. Do you happen to have any idea whatsoever on the Pokémon we have down here?"[/b] Wade lazily stretched his arms over his head before he began scanning his desk, eventually, drawing a small folder out from under a stack of paper. Thankfully they still had enough technology to be able to print stuff like this; Wade didn't want to have Pokémon run all over his lab, not when his own Pokémon caused enough chaos on their own. "It depends, but on our good days we've got quite a bit of different Pokémon for beginning trainers,"[/b][/blockquote][/blockquote][/font]

"Yup! I had plenty of time to research and think about what I wanted!"
The female jumped up, since she had been sitting on the chair, out of excitement -- a wide smile on her face. Finally, she was getting her partner for her travel across the Lanorae Region, it was needless to say that the twenty-one year old young woman was bubbling with excitement inside. Still, she did try to suppress it a bit -- no need to look so childish, right?
"I was kind of hoping to get a look at some of the male Firecubs around the lab? I know I want a male one, but I'd like to meet them personally before choosing. You know... Personality traits and stuff."
She gave an apologetic grin, conscious that this did meant a bit of extra work for the aide -- but hoping that Wade would comply. After all, she wanted to make sure she could get along with the Pokemon she chose as her starter and partner before heading out to the wilderness with him.

Oh, super! Wade actually enjoyed it whenever new trainers had done their research prior to coming here. Having to tell the same story over and over again got kind of boring at times... "Male Firecubs, eh?"
[/b] he mumbled, scratching the back of his neck. So she wanted to see them? Eh... Well, that was probably the least he could do, after giving her a shot and whatever, he supposed. The aide opened a few drawers in his desk and furiously began to dig through the mess, making multiple mental notes of cleaning everything up once he got the chance to do so. This was absolutely ridiculous... God, that he manged to find his keys in this drawer every day still was a mystery to him. Eventually, Wade produced a trio of catching devices and placed them onto his desk, closing the drawer afterwards. "I'm pretty sure these are all male Firecubs. We kinda mark them with stickers usually, but Friestien had his little cousin over and... ergh, not pretty. Stickers all over the place."[/b] Wade mumbled, opening the three orbs after double-checking the stickers on the Pokéballs. After the white light started to fade, a trio of orange lion cubs had materialized on the desk. One of them, obviously an adventurous leader, perked up to scan his surroundings, and he jumped from the desk into Wade's chair and onto the ground shortly after, to inspect him and Rizu. The second one apparently had been sleeping; he lazily stretched his limbs before deciding he wasn't quite ready to get up yet. Instead, he rolled over into his back, paws in the air as if expecting a belly rub, and he closed his eyes again. The last Firecub was a shy little fellow; upon materializing he took his his surroundings if only for a moment, and proceeded to hide from Rize and Wade by jumping behind the latter's broken typewriter. On occasion, he'd peek out from behind it, eyes flicking from Rizu to the aide that had released him, which prompted Wade to try and lure him out with the help of some Pokémon snacks he'd found in his drawer as well.[/font][/blockquote][/blockquote]

As the three Firecubs were released, after Wade's explanation of the sticker system and the faint accident with one of the aide's cousin, the female watched excitedly as the trio of orange lion cubs were released. The first one was the one that caught her attention the most, watching him instantly explore his surroundings. The middle remained sleeping, and the girl complied with giving the relaxed cat a soft belly rub -- before Wade's attempt at coaxing the last one out of hiding reached her.
"Hey there, little guy..."
She helped Wade, using a poffin to slowly but eventually lure out the hiding Firecub, and scratching him behind the ears softly. He shied away at the touch, though, and the female finally let him be. This was probably more than enough excitement for the young cub in one day. She watched him munch away on his poffin, before turning back to look at the first one. He shone with a confident aura all around him, and was definitely a "king" type -- his walk and pose proved he believed himself to be all that.
"I want him."
She walked over to the first Firecub, scratching him under the chin softly, and listening as the male purred loudly in pleasure. She smiled, certain that this was the starter for her. "Nice to meet you, Lucem, I'm Rizu."

The second Firecub was fast asleep after Rizu left him be, and the last one was far too shy to ever come out of hiding, even if tempted again with another treat; even Wade had given up. The first one, however, seemed to appreciate Rizu's company, purring affectionately as she scratched him under the chin. Wade crossed his arms over his chest, watching the young woman and her new starter with a hint of pride. He was sort of good at his job, wasn't he?
Wade returned the other two fire types to their respective Pokéballs as Rizu introduced herself to her starter Pokémon, and he took a moment to locate a starter pack for. Once he'd found one, he crouched down beside Rizu, smiling as his attention drifted from her to the Firecub she'd chosen, and eventually back to her. "Great to see that you guys are getting along,"
[/b] he complimented, holding out the starter pack for her to take. "That kind of wraps it up for me, though... Oh, or maybe not,"[/b] Blinking in realization, Wade pushed himself to his feet and snatched a small piece of paper and a pen from his desk, scribbling his name and some other information down upon it. "If you ever happen to run into something you don't understand, or need help with, or get bitten by rabid Totodiles again..."[/b] he spoke with a grin, holding out the note with his name and phonenumber written down upon it. "I get to do jobs around the region all the time, so you can call me and I'll let you know if I'm around, 'kay?"[/b] But with that, there really wasn't all that much that Wade could do for Rizu, but to see her off safely. She had her starter Pokémon now, she should be fine. Rizu received a Firecub!Name: Lucem. Gender: Male. Level: 5. Attacks: Scratch, Growl Nature: Lucem is a naturally born leader, and a very adventurous little cub. He's curious about pretty much everything and won't hesitate to go out and explore when given the oppertunity. He does, however, realize he has some sort of responsibility when it comes to Rizu, and he'll never stray far from 'his' human. Experience: 0 Happiness Status: 0 - Neutral.
