"I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity." - Edgar Allan Poe
As said, her hair is raven black with a few brown highlights that haven't faded as much as they should have. It falls down to her mid-back where it, somehow, remains strait, like most Asian hair. Her bangs are long and since she normally parts her hair to the right a thick lock of black hair constantly falls over her right eye. It's not an emo thing, that's obvious enough. But Ex rarely pins it up unless she's not going out, which doesn't happen too often; she goes out constantly now that she has a laptop.
Ex has the normal, slightly yellow-tinted skin of someone born in the Orange Archipelago and she doesn't tan, pale, or burn, which is good in Orre. Her eyes are a dark, dark brown, although they obviously aren't black if you look close enough. Again, her eyes are small, and when she's squinting they almost appear closed. She may or may not wear earrings, usually little silver hoops, or others. On occasion she has been seen wearing a blue mask that covers only the eye area but she denies this.
Her build suits her weight and she's rather on the thin side, not that it's ever bothered her. With her tiny size she can easily squeeze into places most people cannot access and can be easily carried around as a result. Of course, picking her up without warning is dangerous, as Ex is not below scratching away with her nails, which tend to take a different colour whenever she has enough time to do them. She has no physical strength though. Her punches are crap and she can only ever tickle someone into submission, unless they aren't ticklish, which is when Ex resorts to using brain instead of nonexistent brawn.
As for the clothing she wears that greatly varies, depending on the season and what mood she's in. She has about six different outfits and more stored into her closet, which happens to be in a motel in Phenac.
During spring weather, when it's damp and cool but pretty, she usually manages to wear something feminine, but only if she's not going around exploring. In this scenario Ex wears black leggings that go up to her ankles and straw sandals with black rimming, decorated with little strawberries. Her top is a simple purple dress, lacking sleeves, which reaches somewhere around her upper thigh (hence the leggings). Under the dress she wears a white tank with lace around the top. If she's going out, however, she'll wear more comfortable clothing, including skinny jeans which make her look thinner than she needs to paired with plain black running shoes. Her top will be another white tank but longer and with thicker lace detailed with blue. A plain white sweater with yellow and gray stripes will be added to both outfits if the weather is particularly cold.
Around summer her outfit will change further. Since she's more likely to run in that weather Ex will change into a pair of loose jeans, light blue and faded, with tattered bottoms due to stepping in mud so often. Her shoes will become running shoes, mostly black, but with a white bottom and tongue with glittering pink stripes on either side. Her top will become another tank (which will either be one of the two mentioned before or one identical to the tank she uses with her purple dress except gray) and she will wear a small tan coloured vest with them. The vest has short sleeves, reaches up to her stomach, and has rose stitching on it, along with a small hood. When traveling she'll also wear this outfit but instead with a shirt that has a picture of a cute, gray demon holding a platter of cupcakes and saying, "Join the dark side, we have cupcakes.", among other tops. If it's cold she'll be wearing another white sweater, also with gray and yellow lines, but the pattern will be different and the colours, darker.
Around the time of autumn and winter Ex will wear much warmer clothing. For casual days she'll wear a white shirt with little pink hearts on it, short sleeved. She'll be wearing under that a longer sleeved shirt which is stripped vertically brown and white. A scarf with the same pattern will be around her neck and she'll wear a pair of jeans with brown stitching of various Legendaries from Hoenn on them. Her shoes will remain as the pink, black, and white ones and Ex will wear fingerless black gloves. When traveling she'll wear a thick black shirt, the same jeans and shoes, but with a dark green poncho. If it's snowing she'll have a large, metallic, pastel pink coat with faux, dark brown fur around the hood. If it's cold but not snowing she'll wear a very reddish-pink sweater with black details around the bottom right, encrusted with some plastic gems, and the vague words 'rock star queen'.
Instead of seasons Orre has a wet season and a dry season meaning that Ex will most likely be seen wearing her spring clothing in the rainy season, her summer outfit in the dry season, and her autumn/winter outfit for the rare times she goes out at the cold desert night. The spring edition will have a blue and light blue umbrella, on occasion.
Some friends have noticed a blue loli-dress with a white apron on it but she denies ever wearing it. She also has white stockings and white clip-on bangs... who knows what she uses them for.
Her pessimistic view on life is something she describes further as 'pessimistic paranoia', where she expects the worse and panics over the inevitably terrible outcome. A lack of self-confidence has resulted in such unmoving outlooks and it only gets worse from there. She's a perfectionist to one of the worst degrees where her work isn't perfect unless it's better than everyone else. Needless to say, it isn't, and Ex has completely forced herself to believe that it's not worth trying unless it's perfect. Do to this she never puts any effort into anything she does and is as lazy as an ass.
Nothing is really worth doing in her little eyes unless she's specifically asked to do it. But in any case, Ex isn't really that interesting. Compared to the rest of the Orre League, an organization she's undeniably linked with, although how is unknown, she's mediocre through and through. She learned about the more advanced subjects late and isn't taking any class in another language. Of course, that just manages to lower her self-esteem even further.
Where her self-confidence utterly fails her business-like way of doing things doesn't. With paranoid obsessiveness and the need to do something spectacular so she seems somewhat exciting, Ex goes through things as if it was a business, and she somehow manages to make doing so fun. Everything has a reason, a list, and a place to be. It can't be out of place. It has to be completely perfect. She goes by all the rules she knows, believing that they lead to some sort of perfection that she can't possibly attain by doing it herself. Of course since she's notoriously lazy she doesn't usually get too far.
To get around being a slacker Ex has become extremely manipulative. Although she's lazy she is smart enough to know how things work. Knowing how to keep herself actually doing something for a long period, on the other hand, is nearly impossible, unless it has something to do with something important in the long run (grades, etc.). She's nice, that much is obvious, and it's not hard to like her once you manage to make her talk (she can be a bit shy around people she feels are superior to her, which is most people). Naturally, she uses this to her advantage, and has the habit of being cunning. A sweet smile and a few words can easily get others to do things for her, along with small deals and favors. It takes little more than a promise and the fact that she obsessively finishes homework everyday to get someone to agree to buy her food if she does your work. And it doesn't end there. Among the League she normally asks them to do favors for her, lending them her Pokémon to do so (a good note to keep is that Ex doesn't train those Pokémon herself; she actually has someone else training them). And she just watches, sometimes sending her Hunters to capture footage of whatever plot she's managed to spur into action.
Innocence is deceiving... it's a fitting slogan for her. Not only does she look harmless but she acts sweet and innocent around acquaintances as if she was born to, befriending and then using them. The world's her servant at times. Why get out of bed when you can have someone else do your work? Of course these manipulative powers have limits, mostly those she places on herself, but you need to know your limits if you want to be safe. Oh, yes, she never does anything that isn't safe in her eyes.
Towards her Pokémon she is rather uncaring. They are always provided food, naturally, and they usually stay in the Hoenn Pokémon Laboratory in Littleroot since that's where Ex started out. However since she wasn't the one who trained them she doesn't have any real 'feelings' towards her fighters except her traveling teams, her casual team, and a few of the suck ups. They merely regard each other with a blunt knowledge of who is the Trainer and who is the Pokémon. She is the same towards relationships with others. They are people, she is a person, and she sometimes uses them to her advantage. Keeping secrets is a hobby and she hasn't trusted anyone enough to tell many secrets, even trivial ones. Or maybe she just likes keeping them guessing.
Ex is really the person you could talk to if you wanted, just because she seems nice, but there's just something about her that tells you that you really shouldn't. She's a bit insane, constantly talking to herself, and smiling at the strangest times, as if the present was not the time her mind was in. Actually her mood can swing from moderately normal to utterly devious and many people note this as some sort of mild form of DID. Or maybe she's just crazy. In any case her... peculiar mental health has lead her to join the Omega Syndicate to fulfill her two favourite goals: cause havoc and... well, that's her only goal.
In all honestly, there was nothing you could point out that was interesting. She was sensitive and seemed to slowly grow out of her serene childishness into the person most friends see. A simple girl, perhaps too sensitive, who had a strange interest with chatting on the computer. There was nothing you could call noticeable... except that she had a strange dream. Most girls in her little group wanted to do this and that. One a fashioner, another who’s interest varied everyday, yet another who drew incredibly, another... well, you get the picture. However, Ex herself was more interesting in the animals which appeared everyday: Pokémon. And so, after begging, her parents let her study about Pokémon for a few months. She left Rustboro to go on an adventure after the school year, as she had passed the Pokémon courses with flying colours.
Her first stop was Lanorae. Upon obtaining her Firecub, who had been dubbed Ladyflicker, Ex moved onto Route One. There she caught a Pidgey, Rattata, Poochyena, and Murkrow, the latter of which had been swarming the Region for an unknown reason. However, it soon became too dark to continue and the new Trainer headed back towards Konika Village. She stayed there for a week, waiting for a time were it would become less dark. However the shadow which loomed over head, the swarm of Murkrow, refused to let the sun shine.
It had been a casual day, despite the darkness. In the darkness of the morning, Ex was still sleeping. However she had been suddenly awoken by… the police. They asked her strange questions, mostly about her Murkrow, who seemed to have disappeared. Forcing her to go outside, Ex followed, scared. What they showed her was not to her liking.
There was this dead man, a captain of some sort, who lay dead on the beach. All around him were Murkrow. Some wild, some trained. Those Trainers who owned the Murkrow… had their Lanorae Pokémon license very quickly suspended. The League did not agree with such actions. However the Government thought otherwise. And so, many Trainers, including Ex herself, lost their Pokémon.
Arriving at Professor Birch’s lab during the summer, after graduating, Ex was allowed to take one of the Hoenn starters. Prof. Birch said he had to do something and that Ex could go and take one of the Pokéballs. She took a Torchic - obviously - and thanked Prof. Birch. However, although none of them knew it, Ex had taken a Torchic specially bred for one of Littleroot's rich families, although they didn't complain so she kept it anyways.
Well, you could say that life was starting to get much better for Ex. However, there was something strange just around Oldale Town. She went to train on Route 103 and ended up in a small village called Noho. And that’s when the excitement started. Well, to put it bluntly, the villagers were convinced some fire-types were destroying their village. And so, upon seeing Ex with a fire-type, they very happily confronted her and put her into a small, rarely used prison for 'questioning'. With her were Pokémon. A Charmander, Cyndaquil, and Chimchar. It was only with the help of an... unlikely ally that Ex got out. The four fire-types evolved as they broke out of the prison.
Ex managed to get to Littleroot and stay at the lab. When police approached, Professor Birch explained to them that they had no reason to hold an innocent girl captive when they had no evidence what-so-ever. Upon further inspection by the police, under the command of Professor Birch, it was revealed that Team Magma and Aqua were the ones who were causing Noho Village so much trouble and that Ex had nothing to do with it.
Well, the four fire-types which Ex had evolved during captivity did not listen to her. At all. They were too powerful. However, after Ex beat Roxanne, Zaku quickly took a liking to his new Trainer and so his Trainer took a liking to the only Pokémon who actually liked her. Afterward Zane, being Ex’s first Pokémon in Hoenn, got jealous and starting being nice to his Trainer. The other two followed shortly. Ex caught a number of Pokémon (she had a habit of procrastinating before getting to the next town) including Lily, a little Ralts who… was very clingy towards her Trainer. At Rustboro Ex saw her family again. She didn’t care. The entire reason of going on an adventure was to get away after all.
Ex’s adventures went by simply and she was quite happy that she left Rustboro. By Fortree she had assembled her signature team: Zane, Zaku, Zephyr, Zenith, and Lily, all at their final stages. Her progress went extremely quickly, especially because she rarely actually battled, instead catching as many different Pokémon as she could. Ex received a strange call from her parents through the Pokémon Center. They demanded that she go to the Orange islands with them for a family trip. Ex agreed and brought her Pokémon with her. In all honestly, she didn’t spend much time with her family and adventured Tangelo Island. There she got into a minor skirmish with some Lapras and poachers who were quickly dealt with by the police. Ex managed to catch one of the Lapras and named him Treasure.
After getting back to Hoenn Ex instead went back to school, going through grade nine relatively well. During the summer she traveled through Hoenn again and Sinnoh and didn't battle any Gyms, instead simply collecting different Pokémon. She assembled a traveling team of Flygon, Ninjask, Linoone, and Lanturn for Hoenn and Honchkrow, Bibarel, Steelix, and Pachirisu for Sinnoh. These Pokémon weren't particularly powerful but they were good at traveling. She got around relatively quickly and made most of her money in Contest. Her Hoenn contest team was Blaziken, Luvdisc, Beautifly, Masquerain, and Armaldo whilst her Sinnoh contest team was Gardevoir, Roserade, Taillow, Slugma, and Pikachu.
Before starting school Ex received a letter from Orre asking her to become part of the Orre League. Of course she was a bit unsure at first and instead journeyed there, finding that the area was everything it was said to be: arid desert and otherwise rather dark. The first person she met there was Professor Oscura who she recognized as the woman who had helped her long ago in Noho Village. They re-acquainted themselves and Professor Oscura began a short 'tour' of Orre. She quickly discovered that Ex had a vast collection of Pokémon that would suit the metagame perfectly (they both believed that friendship was a key factor in power in Pokémon but also believed that great power could not be reached in all of them- a believe known as OU metagame) and offered to have someone train them for her.
Ex affiliated herself with the new Orre League, although exactly what she does for them is unknown. She works for Oscura as well, doing little favors for her to earn a small living and pay the rent on the motel in Phenac City. There was this one time when Oscura asked Ex who she hated in her life and the girl answered that she would like to see her brother suffering a bit. The next day said brother managed to get a concussion but lived in the end. She hasn't talked too much with Oscura ever since.
Since the training of her Pokémon is done by a 'private' trainer Ex doesn't do much other than explore with a small team of Pokémon and commonly lends Pokémon to the Gym Leaders. Although she'll never admit it to her friends Ex does work she gets from school. Despite everything that's happened she's still obsessed with her marks - no burger flipping for her!
Some time later she left Orre. You see, a friend of hers, the same one who mentioned Lanorae in the first place, told her some extraordinary news. The Trainers who had lost their license because of the Murkrow incident were getting their Pokémon back! In a day Ex received some mail at the Pokémon Center. It was an apology from the Lanorae Government that stated they had figured out the real killed of the man who Ex didn’t even know: a serial killer who went by Bloodlust. She was never caught but the important thing was that Ex’s license was no longer suspended.
Of course... it didn't matter anyways.
Maybe it was the criminal region of Orre that changed her... but Ex seems to be much more insane that before. She ended up joining the Omega Syndicate instead.
And from then on, havoc was her primary concern.[/size]
