GEORGE let's fly~ Ohhh, man... Ellery shivered, his little green, yellow and red feathers ruffling, his huge eyes squeezing shut. He didn't want to do this. He didn't want to explore the High Prairie, didn't want to fight any wild Pokémon. He didn't care that Drea thought he was a wimp and a baby for being afraid. <<I d-don't want to d-do this.>>
<<Aw, shut it, pipsqueak,>> squawked Drea, feeling and looking far more enthusiastic and excited than his companion. He was the one who had led the way to Route One, perplexing George and worrying Ellery. Neither one of them were really battling types, but hell if Drea was gonna relax and get weak just because they didn't want to bruise any sorry saps. It was time to bust some skulls, get his fight on, all that crap!
George, now that he had figured out their destination (somewhere in Route One, where they could find a battle), was smiling lightly in his usual carefree fashion. Drea was right, he wasn't so into battling, but if it was what the Spearow wanted then he would go along. Perhaps Ellery would be inspired to get brave if he saw Drea kicking butt, eh? And if they found any flying-types, then they would be able to add more members to their team! The thought was pleasing. Win-win, right? Drea was happy, Ellery would hopefully be happier for it, and they'd get a new buddy!
"Hey, now, you two getting along?" The birds were perched upon their trainer's shoulders, chirping and squawking and crowing at each other as they conversed, and while George the optimist liked to think that meant they were becoming friends, most of the noise was really coming from Drea's mocking of the Natu and Ellery's self-conscious, unhappy responses. It was tough to tell when Gee couldn't understand Pokespeech.
<<Just peachy!>> chirped Drea, letting out a harsh, crowing laugh. Ellery ducked his beak under his wing, looking nervous and miserable. Though Drea seemed to delight in this for a few moments, he softened after a second, sighing. <<Look, wimpy, chill out. You don't have to do any fightin' if you don't wanna. Though you may wanna work on growin' a spine at some point.>>
<<Whatever,>> whispered Ellie solemnly, not looking up.

Around the three companions, the wind blew through the High Prairie and sent leaves scattering in all directions. Red, yellow, and orange danced around in a bright mosaic of nature. Birds were migrating, Pokemon were foraging... The wild could be such a wondrous sight.
However, this probably was not first on most people's minds as they traveled through. The wild meant wild Pokemon, which was quite a fright for some and a golden opportunity for others. Seeing as the group at hand was somewhat of a mixed bag, it was no small occasion when a Sentret bounded out onto the path, nibbling at a berry found recently. It was a little portly, sure, which no doubt came from the annual stockpiling of food to brace for winter. The wild Pokemon seemed not to notice George, Ellery, and Drea; instead, it blissfully and ignorantly continued to enjoy its snack.
Wild Sentret has appeared! What will George do?
OoC:// Fun little story for ya: I choose the Pokemon to appear by a random number generator, and I have a little number system for the Pokemon on this route. I rolled a Spearow twice in a row. Somehow, though, I didn't think that'd work too well, since Drea's probably going to do the fighting... maybe next time? Also, Drea and Ellery are adorable~! In their own... abusive-friendship-kind-of-way...

((Haha, if you'd like to have a Spearow come in next time, that would certainly be interesting... especially because Ellery may be the one to wind up fighting. x] Drea would egg him on. And heehee, they are cute, aren't they? I love these two. ... Eventually Drea will learn to be nice. Eventually. :V Also, in this post I'm having Drea use both an attacking move and a status-inducer in the same "turn." I wasn't sure if that was allowed, though... If I have to do one or the other, then I'll happily edit this. I just couldn't find anywhere in the rules that specified, so I'm doing it the way I'm used to. x])) GEORGE let's fly~ George ceased his walking at the sight of the wild Sentret that had bounded its merry way onto the path. It looked so content and cute, what with its little berry that it was chewing at, and its fat belly. The human smiled and leaned over just a bit so that he could see it better. (That was the problem with being as tall as he was; everything on the ground looked so far away!) Drea, however, didn't care to watch this potential enemy. Bo-ring. He wanted to battle!
<<Chaaaaarge!>> squawked the Spearow, flapping his wings to get airborne, then zooming at the poor, innocent Sentret. He released a loud, grating Growl, then firmly clamped his sharp-tipped beak shut, intending on hitting the wild Pokémon like a dart with a Peck attack.
This violent outburst startled both George and Ellery a great deal, though Ellery calmed quickly, unsurprised once he'd got over the suddenness of it; he had realized quickly that Drea was a bloodthirsty little punk. Loved to make a ruckus. Still, the fact that he had not even bothered to wait for an order one way or the other was tremendously uncool, as far as Gee was concerned, and his heavily-lidded eyes widened, making him look more awake and alarmed. "O-oy! Drea, what're you doing? Stop that! 'Ey! He wa'n't doing anything to you!" But alas, his somewhat panicked protests fell upon deaf ears, and Drea showed no signs of even hearing George.
Well... bollocks. The human, who was very much peace-loving and had hoped to politely ask a wild Pokémon for a battle, nervously bit at the inside of his cheek and licked at the gap in his two front teeth, furrowing his eyebrows. He stroked Ellery's soft green feathers to soothe the Natu, though in truth, Ellie was not as unhappy about all this as George seemed to be. Granted, he was no fonder of battle than his trainer (and okay, maybe he was shaking a bit), but he was not Drea's biggest fan at the moment and he hoped that perhaps a battle would drain the Spearow's energy and turn his nasty attitude on someone else, making him more tolerable.
The Natu ruffled his wings, cooed quietly at George (using what weak psychic ability he had, the bird tried to send comforting thoughts to his trainer, George's lips twitching with a little smile in response), and turned his huge, unblinking eyes to watch the fight that Drea had started.

The Sentret looked up with wide eyes as Drea let out his battle cry, turning and making to run away from the impending attack. However, the Peck landed just as the Spearow planned and the wild Pokemon cried out and backed away, spinning to face Drea. The berry had been abandoned on the ground, half-eaten for someone else to find and react to accordingly. Crouched low on the ground with his tail held high and fluffed out, the Sentret bared his teeth as if he could intimidate Drea similarly to how the Spearow intimidated him. <Hey! What's your problem? I've got a lot to do in a little bit of time! Back off!> he snapped before running forward and taking a high leap at the airborne Spearow. His claws were extended and the Sentret aimed his Scratch where it would benefit him the most: the shoulders. After all, if the bugger couldn't fly, his advantage was gone, no? Wild Sentret was hit! Its health was diminished. Wild Sentret used Scratch!OoC://That is absolutely acceptable! It's something a lot of people don't realize they can do. I usually just try to keep it every now and then in the battle, though, just so it's not godmodding. But, I mean, realistically, it's possible for a bird to frighten another animal with a call while diving down to hurt them, or for a dog to howl while charging an opponent, or whatever.
