Clover was, to put it simply, very content. He had pulled off his sneakers as soon as he left the lab and tied the laces together (now hanging from his neck) and let his newly acquired pokemon out to play. The Growlithe (who he decided to name Jenny), was friendly and playful. He was loud, too, but that was okay--Clover, in truth, was loving the idea of finally having a companion, regardless of how much noise it made.
The light sea breeze rustled the grasses, and Clover hummed quietly along with them. His dirty face bore a huge smile and he occasionally laughed at Jenny's antics: he would bark loudly, then charge through the grass as if he had found something, and then come plodding back, head down, disappointed at finding nothing. Each time Clover would bend over and pat the pokemon on the head and just keep walking.
While he had been nervous before, now that had faded. The sunny weather and the cooling breeze lifted all doubts (for now) and he could see no reason to be anything but happy. Yes, he had started out being nervous, wondering what his parents or sister would say, but now he knew that they couldn't' say anything bad--he had taken Jenny away from the lab where he had been stored in a pokeball and given him something to do... Besides, Clover had no intention to do anything but care for him and be the best companion he could be.
It was those thoughts--reassuring ones that chased away worry and thoughts of his family's disapproval--that kept him busy as he walked, watching Jenny run through the grasses ahead.
