Small, fragile feet walked upon the countless grains of sand as gentle waves crashed against the small beach. Ocean's salty scent was all over the air, the wind carrying it to distances far away; making the feet, whose pace was ever so lightly creating small designs on the rather empty beach, come to an abrupt stop.
Fairyn inhaled the fresh sea scent, bending her head to the side to look at the never ending mirror before her. The sky had turned from a deep blue to a faint gray, the clouds covering the sun until only some skinny rays surfaced and touched the water's embrace. Fairyn thought, with a marveled expression, that the clouds looked like some kind of castle or fortress. If one's imagination was good they could even see small houses and people walking around in an ethereal manner before melting together into a whole new image.
The girl's smile was almost nonexistent, but it was there. It was a pity Fae couldn't see this sight as others could. Her vision would always get in her way, for she could not see from her right eye. Unconsciously she ran her finger through the scar that had been left - it was not very visible because Fae was pale and the marred skin had turned into a straight white line from her cheek to her eyebrow.
Sighing, Fairyn bid goodbye to the scenery around her and turned around to go back to the village. She had not come to marvel at the sea - her purpose was, after all, to get her very first Pokemon and start her journey. Fairyn was in no hurry however, so she took her time in looking at everything that surrounded her, bathing in the peaceful environment. She could live here - she really could - if she somehow could gather the money to do it. Having only the orphanage's money to start her journey, it was not easy to get to this region, but she did it.
As she was walking around the streets, she observed the people all around her and flinched when one of them bumped into her, politely apologizing before resuming their way. Fae bit her lip and gulped. A normal person wouldn't even acknowledge the person who had bumped into them, but they were not like Fae. After all, Fairyn was afraid of people - half the time anyway. When she was not scared of them, she'd jump their bones (quite literally, might I add).
'Damned personality disorder... Or whatever it is.' Fae thought to herself. 'Aw, don't be like that. You wouldn't like to be all moody and afraid for the rest of your life, would you?' Fae sighed and answered. 'At least I won't be acting all stupid and hyper like you do. Remember that time when you kissed that boy?! I swear I had never seen a girl that angry in my life!' 'Well, duh. It was his girlfriend. And he liked it, so you shouldn't be complaining.' The girl gave up once again from teaching morals to her... outgoing half. Talking to herself wasn't one of her brightest hobbies anyway. Once again, damned personality disorder...
The sun weakly smiled at them/her(?) from the cloud filled sky before Fae finally reached the building in which the Pokemon Lab resided. It was only one story high and she slowly walked up the steps. Wondering if she should knock or just walk in, the girl bit her lip. In the end her shyness kicked in and she just knocked, waiting for someone to let her in.
