UM. Member encounter thingy = THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUUU. Yesssss. My job as a moderator just got six times less stressful. uhhh. what else was there? Guide Shards! Those sound really interesting. I really want Andi to get one of those because she'd freak out like whoa XD Rangers starting = epic win because Jamal wants his starter so he can ditch livia get to work. And prove he's a good guy. Can we get one thing for New and Old Character? Or just one total?
Either way, I'll grab a Mystery Pokemon. Hopefully I get something of some various type that Jason does not have at current so I'll be convinced to edit his Wishlist, because I no longer really likesome of the Pokemon on there, plus he has some Pokemon to replace the filled slots.
Also, everything is awesome. In the words of the Heavy: "You are deadAyra is awesome. Not big surprise."

Can Elle please have a Gible, as a starter? I'm assuming Gible is rare xD; She'll still be coming to the lab to pick him up, though, if possible?

Gah, sorry for the wait guys. I'll generate your mystery Pokemon by this weekend. Right now I need to keep focused on my AP English questions or I'm gonna fail the year before it begins xD Anyways, for answering questions. #13 - Rymon♪♫: Unfortunately, devolving isn't allowed =< Sorry Damian: Like the rangers, you can go for shiny/natural coloured, but unfortunately not the rare as the set of three starters that are offered to choose from are generated by analyzing the profile as well. Sorry D= @cool: No, just one total xD Mae: Yup, Gible's rare =3 And I can arrange it so she receives it at the lab. And, as a personal request guys, those of you who are getting rare/shiny/whatever starters and whatnot, please put a note where you're getting them (like, if you're starting with it outside of the lab, mention this thread in your profile, or in Mae's case mention it in the first post of your thread) so I don't have a momentary brainfail and say you aren't allowed to have it xD I know for a fact that would happen otherwise and I'd feel like an idiot. NOTE TO SELF: Mystery Pokemon for Ry, Kiyomi, Andi and Cooljma (McBeaver)

I've been watching and waiting for the reopening for so long, I almost missed it *chuckles*
I'm totally looking forward to the first version of the Lanorae Tribune! ^^ (Realism=win!)
So, yay I can finally start typing up my first character now! (altough I must admit that this cobalt/dark blue skin still keeps confusing me and makes me miss new posts and such... The brown steampunk-themed one was so much more comfortable...)
As far as the promo-stuff goes, I was wondering if Charmander falls under rare or not?

Sorry for the wait, guys! Been a tad busy. I hope all of you are happy with your Pokemon though. Unfortunately, randomizing things doesn't give good stuff all the time =<
Ry's random Pokemon is revealed to be...
Congratulations! You have received a shiny Weedle!Level: 1 Ability: Shield Dust Attacks: Poison Sting, String Shot Notes: None. Shiny's a canon colouration so not much for me to say xD
Kiyomi's random Pokemon is revealed to be...
Congratulations! You have received a shiny Chikorita!Level: 1 Ability: Overgrow Attacks: Tackle, Growl Notes: See Ry's Weedle xD
Andi's random Pokemon is revealed to be...
Congratulations! You have received an albino Anorith!Level: 1 Ability: Battle Armor Attacks: Scratch, Harden Notes: Albino Pokemon lack pigmentation in their skin, which in turn causes them to appear much lighter than other Pokemon in their species and, in addition, sometimes have pink or red eyes.
And Cooljma's random Pokemon is revealed to be...
Congratulations! You have received a swamp Barboach!Level: 1 Ability: Oblivious OR Anticipation Attacks: Mud-slap Notes: Barboach who happen to have made their homes in the swamp have a very noticeable difference when compared to the more well-known view of their appearance. They are noticeable drab-coloured, and have slimy, speckled skin with slightly lighter underbellies. This colouration allows them to easily hide amongst the muk of the swamp bed, while still remaining fairly unnoticeable when viewed from below as well.
Carni: Eventually we're going to have multiple skins to choose from, so this one won't be the only option forever =3 The steampunk skin is going to be remade, just probably not until we move so I don't have to move multiple skins over.
And Charmander is actually classified more as uncommon ^^ They can be found fairly easily in the more mountainous regions of Lanorae, as well as the deserts.

OKay well I'm not sure if this is rare or not since Charmader wasn't rare here, but are the other starters from the other regions also just uncommon? Like Chimchar?
Also this is something I've been meaning to ask for awhile but kept forgetting I know when the pokemon levels up that they keep all their attacks and such, but I was wondering what if a pokemon evolved and it was able to learn a move at a level before it evolved or it it was on their start list of techniques. Like say Medicham after it evolved will it learn the whole Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, and Fire punch thing when it does or do you have to teach them that yourself?
*hopes I made sense*

Funny, I always nicknamed my Barboach "Germaphobe," because apparently, according to one 'Dex entry, it covers itself in a slimy film to prevent bacteria and whatnot, but now I have one who lives in the swamp, of all places. Not complainin' or nuttin', I love it. Just sayin' that it's a funny coincidence.
And to answer Damian, Pokemon can learn moves after they're fully evolved, but if it's a move that only their prevo could learn [E.G. Get a Torchic to lv40 and it learns Flamethrower], the evo can't learn it. I hope that's what you meant. I'mma reread the question a bit to see if I'm wrong or not. Which I probably am.

Heh knew it wasn't clear, but no that isn't what I meant, yeah I'm awear that once it evolves it cant learn the things it could have learned before I'm asking when it evolves does it learn moves that it's suppose to get on earlier levels like Monferno. Chimchar isn't suppose to evolve until level 16, but according to the pokemon wiki Monferno learns Mach Punch at level 14 will the evolve Monferno just instantly know this move then? Or does it have to be taught a different way?
Hopefully that is more clear ^^;
Edit: Because I just noticed Chimchar evolves at 14 not 16 *can anyone tell I've never use him before? xD* so again back to my Medicham example it says here that Medicham starts off with those punches [ice, thunder, fire] so does this mean when he evolves from Meditite that he will learn them or does he have to learn them a different way.

Lol, yeah, I didn't bother to log in for whatever reason xD
Anyways. Most of the starters are actually uncommon, and that would go for Chimchar as well. As a general rule, rare Pokemon consist of either Pokemon who would be highly valued (like Eevee, Lapras, Dratini, ect), fossils or, in Lanorae's case, man-made Pokemon that wouldn't make sense to exist in a steampunk setting. For instance, the Porygon line is not found in the Lanorae region at all, neither are the Voltorb or Magnemite lines, as they were technologically created.
Concerning attacks, they are considered to be automatically learned. So in Medicham's case, once Meditite evolves, it would have access to those punches. [/blockquote]

Mystery Pokemon for Rizu tooo~! <3 College is sucking me up a bit, but I swears I'll be active~! =DD
Also, a small suggestion? Maybe make pokemon encounters free-form? Like, admin posts pokemon and stats for said encounter, and then the role player is up to do the battle/befriending/ditching etc. Then a mod/admin simply checks and (if all is logical and realistic) decides if the befriending/catching etc really happens or not. :3
Saves time for mods and admins, and makes things go quicker, only thing that would be free-form would be special plot events I suppose.

Rizu's mystery Pokemon is revealed to be....
Congratulations! You have received a shiny Baltoy!Level: 1 Ability: Levitate Attacks: Confusion
We're not going to make battles and whatnot defaultly freeform simply because roleplaying with another person is what keeps such encounters exciting and keeps the trainer who's encountering them on their toes because they really don't know if they're going to catch the Pokemon/win the battle or not. True, with wild encounters most of them are won by the trainer anyway, buy not all of them. If you were to do freeform you'd know exactly what would happen and, quite frankly, it may be fun once or twice, but after that I'd find it to be needlessly boring and repetitive. Roleplaying with another person is what keeps it exciting in my opinion, and with the new system things aren't going to be as dependent on mods so it should go faster anyway.
Eventually I may include a freeform option, but it's going to have certain requirements and specific regulations based on what Pokemon you're going for. I've been on roleplay sites that include both options, with the main emphasis being on player-vs-player interaction, and people do use the freeforms, but generally it's for a lot more than just a battle, which keeps it fresh and exciting. Eventually we'd get people that post two or three paragraph responses for catching a Pokemon otherwise, which, in my opinion, just wouldn't be an acceptable standard for that instance.

Bah - sorry I'm so late in participating. Just got back from a random trip. But the Tribune/everything else sounds pretty awesome. I may have to show off some non-existant talent for comics and whatnot lol. 8)
But anywho, I'll take a Mystery Pokemon as well. I mean, apparently it's all the rage here. x3

Since Charmander isn't rare I'd love to have a melanistic Charmander as Starter for my soon-to-be-made character - if that's okay of course
