The Pokémon stadium is quite possibly one of the most popular areas of Trainer Square among trainers. A large and very impressive looking building, the interior is even more so with it's constant hustle and bustle, and the numerous arenas it hosts. No matter what level you're at in terms of experience, most likely you can find a good match up in the Pokémon stadium.
Of course, in addition to levels, there are other things worth coming to the stadium for. Tournaments are in high supply, and the renowned free-for-all battles that take place in the battle field are increasingly popular amongst trainers and betters alike.
REGULATIONS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The regulations of the stadium are considered to be fairly basic. Obviously, all general battling rules apply, the only difference being there's a bit more of a structure to these battles rather than the random ones found out in the routes and towns.
FINDING A BATTLE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These guidelines refer primarily to the battle request thread, but battles can also be organized through pm or other means if it is wished.
II. When asking for an NPC battle, a staff member will generate an NPC to battle you, and their Pokémon will match your highest in level.
III. Tthere are occasions where special NPC battles will be available! These special NPCs vary from notable characters in the region, such as prominent figures in organizations, to even the gym leaders themselves. These challenges will generally come with special bonuses if they are completed.[/ul]
BATTLING
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As mentioned, battling here works almost exactly like everywhere else on the site, with the same leveling system and likewise. However, like above, it is a bit more structured.
II. Battles which have not been replied to in over two weeks without any excuse will be closed and neither party will receive anything. A battle must be completed for there to be a reward.
III. Please note that spectators are permitted. If you would like to have your character watching a battle that is taking place, simply roleplay them in the stands in the battle thread.[/ul]
ARENA TYPES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the more popular features of the stadium is that there are various different arenas which can be requested, and more are constantly being built. All arenas, of course, have stands where spectators may sit safely, though some on the battle field are a bit more dangerous than others.
Please note that most arenas are rounded, allowing for stands to rise up on all sides, much like a colosseum. Also, most have steampunk-like accents, though the steam arena is definitely the most "steampunkish".
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The steam arena is the option that holds the very essence of the Lanorae region in favour. Large and expansive, the arena doesn't really have many obstacles at first glance, however, further observation shows that the main floor is in fact made up of numerous metal sheets. Occasionally, these sheets may open like hatches or rise, revealing steam-powered obstacles or uneven terrain.
The stands are scattered about the round arena are lifted off the floor so that battling Pokemon can take full advantage of the ground below, and are generally reached by some form of elevator or staircase.
WATER ARENA
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A popular set up in Cerulean City in the Kanto region, the water arena consists of a great pool with numerous platforms where trainers and Pokémon alike can stand. These platforms — save for the two main ones where trainers enter — are not attached to anything and can float freely, therefore a lot of the battling takes place in the water. As an added addition for spectators, there's a hallway that leads underground beside the large tank where individuals can see underwater battles, though it's almost impossible to see what's going on above water from the position below.

DESERT ARENA
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The desert arena consists of a large field of sand which desert-dwellers can easily use to their advantage. The temperature is raised a considerable amount, and strong, man-made wings create a constant sandstorm that will blast against types that aren't immune to such a situation. There are some areas where the sand is particularly loose, and essentially acts like quicksand.

CAVE ARENA
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The cave arena is characterized by pure darkness, with numerous rock walls that raise out of the ground and create something similar to a labyrinth. The occasional flash of light may be evident, but there is very little light save for that. Pokémon who can work well in the dark, such as dark and ghost types, would thrive in this arena, though Pokémon that generate their own light may do alright as well.
SWAMP ARENA
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The swamp arena is heavily foliaged, and half of the challenge is actually finding the opponent. Sink holes and marshy areas are prominent, and the stagnant pools of water are thick and murky. This is a particularly challenging arena, as many different variables are put into play, and some of the natural obstacles may even be more dangerous than the opponent.[/ul]
