As Tess walked into Konika Village, she smiled. There was great weather, the sun was shining, and there was a slight breeze coming off the sea. However, she quickly thought of bad luck and knocked on the wooden sign nearby that stated 'Welcome to Konika Village.'
She set off toward the lab to get her first real Pokemon. As fun as her old companions had been, they hadn't ever really been hers, so now she was finally going to get her own Pokemon. Then she could work on starting to live the stories her father told her when she was little. As she was thinking about all of this, Tess continued to walk up to the lab, being sure all the while not to step on any cracks that their might be on the ground.
Once Tess had reached the wooden stairs that led up to the double doors, she jumped up them and was soon at the top. With a smile still on her face, she knocked. Once, Twice, and that was it. Because everyone knows that three is unlucky.
ooc: holy crap, i forgot how much fun RPing is ^^

OoC. Glad to see you still enjoy it =3
BiC. It had been a relatively lazy day within the lab. The warm sun of the coming spring shone blissfully through the numerous windows that peeked in between the various drawings that covered the walls of the main lobby. It was a clear, cloudless day. One which accompanied the coming of spring and the fact that the winter storms were being left far behind.
A dark-haired woman was leaning back in her seat, eyes partially closed as she regarded her computer screen with a slight frown. An email was open on its surface, and her fingers seemed to be continually tapping on the sketchpad that was laying next to her mouse. She sighed, brushing a few strands of her dark hair from her eyes as she suddenly heard the tell-tale sound of a knock on the door to her lab.
She promptly rose to her feet, smoothing out her jeans as she walked briskly to the door. She was certainly dressed in a relaxed fashion: old, worn jeans hanging from her slim waist just over a pair of old tennis shoes. A simple t-shirt hung from her shoulders, and her lab coat, while neat, hung in a rather haphazard manner around her. She smiled as she pulled open the door, fixing the girl that awaited there with one of her fond smiles.
"Hello there, dear. Come in. What can I do for you?" she asked, stepping aside so that Tess had a clear path into the lab. [/blockquote]

"Hi. My name's Tess, and I was planning on becoming a trainer." As she was saying this, Tess stepped into the lab, feeling that the fact that the woman moved aside counted as an invitation. "I was told that this lab was the best place to go to get a Pokemon."
Awaiting for a response, Tess glanced around the lab, trying to take in the full experience of the start of her journey. However, there really wasn't all the much to look at in the lab. It seemed tidy enough, with the exception of a few papers sitting next to a computer. Now that she was done with her observations, Tess waited for the woman's response.

Her slight smile never seemed to leave her lips as the dark haired woman listened to what Tess had to say. She tilted her head slightly to the side, and gave a cheerful nod of her head. "Yes. We're the current leading establishment, therefore it is our duty to present new trainers with starters," she said cheerfully, her pale blue eyes glimmering with a warm flicker.
She paused for a moment, then gave an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, Tess. My name is Professor Aspen. Forgive me for not making that known sooner. All the same," she gave another small gesture of one of her hands, indicating something she probably felt was necessary but wasn't exactly clear. Maybe it was just a small habit of her's. "Our current starters are, of course, our region starters of Seaward, Iglora, and Firecub, but we also have Ekans, Natu, Growlithe, Glameow, or one of our Pokemon eggs. I'm afraid the last is a bit random though, we really don't know what's in which..."
She turned to look back at the younger girl, giving a small shrug of her shoulders. "Do you wish to see any of them or anything?"

Tess had to think about her answer for a little while before she responded. She really liked both grass and water types, so that narrowed it down to two options. Either a Seaward or an Iglora. Before she had come to the lab, she'd seen pictures of both and now that she thought about it, there was definatly one that she prefered.
"Um, I think I'll take an Iglora. I saw a picture of one before, and it seemed like a very friendly Pokemon." Now that she had announced her decision, Tess breathed a small sigh of relief. The tough part was over, now came the fun part.

BiC. Professor Aspen gave a simple nod in response to Tess' request, a slight smile touching her lips. "Iglora are indeed playful... just be careful as it grows for they are known to become more aggressive in their later stages," she replied, turning briskly and walking away for a moment before returning with a Pokeball and a pack, both of which she held out for the new trainer to accept.
"I wish you luck on your journey."

With a big smile on her face, Tess thanked Professor Aspen, took the Pokeball and pack, and then turned around and headed back outside. Now that she had gotten her Pokemon, she was ready to go out and get all the badges!
