Within the Omega Syndicate organization, it's members are separated into various rankings based on their skills and specialties. Generally, as soon as a Syndicate member achieves the rank of 'grunt', they may choose a field to specialize them, which allows them to have access to specific missions of that field, or they may simply follow the default advancement path.
While it's technically possible to achieve various specializations within the organization if one chooses to learn them, a member may only have one primary specialization, through which they follow the advancement path for.
To give a quick summary, the default advancement path is as follows, with different equivalents should you take on a specialization path:
Grunt: Makes most of the organization. Generally grunts could be considered to be the 'pawns' of the organization, and while they aren't trusted with many higher-priority missions, they generally are permitted to go out on the field.
Agent: A group that's generally broken into smaller sub-groups, with Rank I Agents being the highest available rank. The amount of trust placed in agents varies depending on their actual sub-rank, with a Rank I Agent considered to be the most trustworthy.[/ul]
The following "ranks" are better considered to be titles, and therefore have no equivalent in other specialization paths. However, it should be noted that only Rank I Agents can gain any of these titles.
Lieutenant: Generally considered to be the most trusted members of the Syndicate. They are often involved directly with the leader and also usually usually in charge of groups of members and captains, both to keep an eye on them and organize them in the event a large number of operatives is needed.
Leader: The highest rank possible, the leader is the highest rank one can achieve in the organization. Generally, there is only one leader.[/ul]
There are four different specializations one can pursue, with the first being chosen once the rank of grunt is achieved (if you choose to take on a specialization at all). Generally, members are referred to as grunts in most cases, though in writing they usually have a sub-title such as 'specialization: technology' or something similar listed. All the specializations will be listed below, along with the further advancements available in each one. Please note that you have to follow your advancement path, so choose wisely. Also note that choosing a specialization will not necessarily restrict you mission-wise, there will be some missions only certainly rankings and specializations can take, though most will be up for anyone.
- Specialization: Technology - Grunt equivalent. Members who specialize in technology are generally fairly skilled when it comes to things such as creating and handling weapons, intercepting radio signals, creating devices for the use of the organization, and likewise. They are often directly involved with any sort of sabotage that the Syndicate may perform, as their skills tend to allow for the creation of things like clockwork bombs and likewise.
[/li][li] Specialization: Stealth - Grunt equivalent. Members who specialize in stealth are generally the ones that are excellent when it comes to theft and recon, as well as things like going undercover in order to gain information. They are often involved in large heists, as well as any spy-work that needs to be done for the organization, and could be considered to be the eyes and ears of the organization that keep close tabs on anything and everything that's going on in the region.
[/li][li] Specialization: Combat - Grunt equivalent. Members who specialize in combat are often the main protective force of the organization as well as the individuals that are sent in when force is needed. They usually aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and are often pretty skilled in Pokemon training as well as general intimidation techniques. Should someone need threatened or 'silenced', generally a combat specialist is the way to go.
[/li][li] Specialization: Coercion - Grunt equivalent. The members who specialize in coercion are generally not heavily involved in the more physical aspects of the organization. They tend to be the equivalent of politicians, albeit potentially corrupt politicians, and they usually have the skills to get what they want. Be it through quick wit, charisma, or things such as blackmail and potential torture, they're usually the ones that help cover up anything the Syndicate does to ensure anyone who witnessed the action won't speak a word.
