Lyra is, when it comes to her build, a petite woman - without factoring in her actual age, she already seems tiny. She lacks any serious muscle-tone, but would not be considered 'lanky'. Though, the thing most people notice about Lyra when they first spot her, is that she is relatively.. small. When standing straight, which she rarely ever does, she reaches the amazing height of four feet-ten inches. Her hair, straight, and dyed a deep chestnut by the traveling sun, falls just over her shoulders in the front, and much shorter in the back, at a precise angle. Her wide set, blue eyes glisten when she smiles, which happens to be all the time.
Her outfit of choice consists entirely of blue, black, and white fabrics. A simple white collared shirt sits beneath her more extravagant article of clothing - a zipper up, onyx sleeveless vest. Her skirt, however short as it may be, mimics the bright shades of her favorite and never-changing tie; the tongue of the tie holds a stitched in, silver plate for her pokéball.
Personality
Likes:; Pokémon, camping, meeting new people, food, sounds of nature, stargazing, and naps.
Dislikes:; Loud, abrupt noises, rude trainers, any organization that steals or harms pokémon. (Diamond / Rocket / Galactic, Etc.)
As excitable as she is adventurous, Lyra holds true to her Sun Sign's traditional traits. She is an endless fountain of optimism (some would say she is blindly optimistic) and benevolence. This, accounted with her forward, honest nature, tends to cause some slight problems for her when faced with a question of opinion. If push comes to shove, she'll resort to gentle humor. Intelligent as she is, she is also very naive. Overly trusting and willing to help anyone or anything that needs it, she has been known to get herself into sticky situations.
Lyra is always eager to meet new people, and will approach just about anyone. She's an excellent conversationalist but will quickly go off topic and become easily distracted if she spots, or thinks she spots, a pokémon nearby, and go off to investigate - because no matter how much she would love to continue a conversation with the person in question, her love for pokémon is deeply rooted to her past, and stronger than her connection with any person could be.
Social, reliable, out-going, and clumsy, it's a wonder that she's always seen traveling alone (and in one piece!) - the reason would be that she never 'sets her roots down' anywhere. Her feet carry her, and if she's stationary for too long, she becomes anxious and aches for the thrill of adventure - thus setting her off once more. Though, of course, never without her trusted friend, whom she calls Nox - a peculiar Umbreon that does not really belong to her, but has followed and protected her through the years. Nox, of course, was only an Eevee when the encounter happened - We'll save that story for the next section though, shall we?
History
Mother;; Midori Linesca
Father;; Vincent Linesca
Age 0-6 Months
Premature and sickly, the chances for her survival were very slim - a low 15%, by the Doctors' guess. Her mother, sadly, had died during the delivery, and her father was in a state of shock.
What if I lose them both?
The question rang through his head during the passing days. Stress took it's toll on him. Then the day came when she could breathe on her own without the help of machines. This was the biggest break that they could have hoped for. It showed improvement.
She's strong.. Just like her mother was..
Age 7-11 Months[/u]
There was a great amount of progress. At last, she could go home. Her father had kept the nursery clean and well kept, like how it had been before they left for the hospital on November 27th. They had been hoping to have a boy, and thus the room was blue - several shades if you included the furniture.
You're finally here..
It didn't take long for her to settle in, and she seldom cried, which had worried her father. Due to her previous illness, he was constantly checking up on her to make sure she was alright.
Age 1-4 Years
Her mischievous and adventurous side would begin to show already. Crawling, walking, or anything in between. Each step could hold dangers for the house. Markers, pencils, pens alike were used to graffiti the walls with scribbles, usually accompanied by rambunctious laughter.
I just can't keep up with her..
Age 5-9 Years
Walking, talking, and already on her path of self-discovery, this young, intellectual girl had her first encounter with a Pokémon:
The weak, hollow whine was carried to her ears as she explored the territory otherwise known as her backyard, "Eeeev.." Curiously, she began to search for the cause of this sad and strange little sound. An abandoned Eevee kit was the source, she soon discovered, as she looked into the hollow trunk of a tree. It couldn't have been more than a few weeks old, at the most, and seemed extremely malnourished. Her heart would have broken if she had left it - and so, she brought the limp, shaking kit into her house. Rushing around the rooms, she finally found a heated blanket, and wrapped the shivering figure up, setting it on medium heat. Hopefully it would be warm enough. Her tiny digits pushed the keys that she had been told to, in case of an emergency, '911'. When the operator picked up, she simply asked what baby 'animals' eat. (not yet knowing it was a pokémon) The most sufficient answer she could get was, 'milk'. The woman also told her to heat it, which she did, using one of her old baby bottles and a stool to reach the microwave. Testing to see how hot it was by taking a sip, she went and began to feed the Eevee, who would be affectionately dubbed as Nox years later.
When her father returned that night, he was shocked to find her cuddled alongside the creature. A smile would pass over his lips as he realized that she had found her calling already.
Age 10-16
The bond between the two only grew stronger through the years. Never leaving one anothers side, even for the simplest of things, like walking to a store. However, it didn't feel right to her. She wanted to move, to run, to explore. Each day she would walk closer to the nearest town, but return home to Celadon. Traveling was something she wanted - no, needed. This anxious behavior was reflected through Nox, who also felt the need for something more. The pair wanted to explore every corner of the world.. and on her fourteenth birthday, this wish would finally come into play. Leaving behind a note for her worrisome father, she packed her bags and headed out on a journey. She was already feeling more open, and in touch with Kanto as she breathed in the crisp, forest air. A woman in a strange kimono stopped her to ask where she was going; so familiar yet the name escaped her.
I'm going to find myself.
And with that, she continued on her way. Erika smiled to herself knowingly, as she had been the same way around Lyras' age.
Darkness fell one evening, and Lyra began to set up camp. A shimmer in the corner of her eye caught her interest, and when she turned, she found a small black fennec-like creature where Nox had been. It's wide orbs stared intently at her as she tried to analyze his new shape. Dark, with light blue, luminescent rings? This must be one of the evolutionary forms she had read about. Umbreon, was it? She reached down and gently stroked his head, smiling contently.
Looks like we're both growing and changing.
Age 17-19
She simply had no interest in containing Nox in a spherical device called a Pokéball. Her reasoning was that everything should be free to live the way it wants. It was obvious that Nox had no interest of staying in a tiny device. Who was she to force him into that lifestyle? Trainers would point and whisper to one another as the two passed by in several cities, and quite frankly Lyra didn't care what they thought. She made a few friends, but sadly departed from them as she continued with her journeys, until having striven all over Kanto.
One journeys end is just anothers beginning.
Age 20
After having traveled over Kanto, this exploration-hungry duo began to seek for new lands. Upon reaching Vermillion for the third time in her travels, she heard a man whisper her name from the docks. Turning to look, she discovered that it wasn't a man at all, but instead a Slowking. Instantly curious, she would lean down to eye-level of the pokémon.
Hello, how do you know my name?
He simply smiled, and stated that if she wanted to walk on the land that very few had done before her, she should immediately board the current ferry. Without hesitation she skipped up the deck - nearly tripping over her own foot in the process, and slipped on board, making sure not to leave Nox behind. The captain could be heard all throughout the ship, talking about the land of Lanorae, and it's mystifying inhabitants. Her heart skipped a beat, and it was obvious that she'd made the right decision.. even if she'd forgotten to thank the kind Slowking on the dock. Deciding it was best not to beat herself up about it, she would settle into one of the empty rooms...
... Woken hours later to the sound of water washing up on a sandy shore.
Lanorae, here we come.
