Name: Fairyn Slate
Nickname: Fae, Fa, Ryn
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Occupation: Trainer
Appearance: Eyes: Her eyes are a faint hue of blue. Kind of milky actually. They are not too big, nor too small. They are a bit almond shaped and are often gazing at some invisible point somewhere.
Hair: Fairyn's hair is long and straight. At a first glance it seems ordinary and completely normal, but an observant person would notice the small blue and silver beads spread all over her front bangs. Some of those beads resemble stars and glint with the minimum amount of light. Her hair reaches her waist and is usually loose. However her front bangs reach her shoulders and she has some side bands that reach her chin - she normally does two messy pigtails with those shorter bangs and the result if often hilarious: the hair on those pigtails ends up sticking everywhere and some people compare them to a dragonair's fins.
Skin & Body: Fairyn has a normal enough body for her age. She stands at 5'7 and her weight... well, let's not go there. She is not very fat, actually she is quite skinny, but her bones are heavy. Her skin is pale as pale can get and she usually doesn't complain about it. But, of course, her skin isn't in the least bit flawless. She has light dots covering her nose and cheeks and grows tired with them, thinking they give her a childish look. Also, her left hand, wrist and lower arm are a different color - instead of the pale skin, the skin in those places is a reddish brown and is filled with scars. She usually hides it, afraid of the questions that would follow seeing it.
She also has a scar running over her left eye that goes from her cheek to her eyebrow. The eye there is a very light blue and it is blind. Fairyn can only see from her right eye.
General: Other than that, Fairyn is a pretty normal 16 year old girl. When she walks she has a relaxed posture, although a bit out of it. She usually wears make up and is a bit eccentric with it. She only wears black eyeliner, but she uses it and abuses it, making her eyes seem bigger than they are. It might seem a bit vain, but she can't live without her eyeliner and will surely bite someone's hands off it they try to steal it. Also, she has very sharp canines, almost looking like fangs. Now, Fairyn isn't a pokemorph. She's just a regular human with a strange body.
Clothing: It depends. Her normal attire consists of off the shoulders shirts and dark shorts. She never lets go of the black adventurer boots that reach her knees, mostly because they have a side ball that shines in the dark when activated. To activate it Fairyn only has to step the back of the boots twice on the floor. To colder environments she brings her knee length white puffy jacket that makes her look like an esquimo or a snowman. Nevertheless it is useful.
Extras: Fairyn has both ears pierced four times.
Personality: People-phobic: Fairyn can't stand crowds. At all. Never has, never will. Don't bring her into big cities or else she might just panic, run over some people and disappear near the next alley. Fairyn isn't just afraid of people - she is completely terrified of them and will do everything (and I mean, everything) to get away from them.
Shy: Yes, Fairyn is shy. She is nervous about being near people and doesn't know what to say or what to do in those situations. She is completely awkward in social gatherings or even with another individual. She might stutter a little bit and usually walk against something or fall on her butt for no apparent reason.
Bipolar: Oh man, that she really is. Fairyn is all the things said above; however her moods change so rapidly someone would say she has a personality disorder. And why is that? Well, because one minute she's all shy and the next one she'll be hugging the person closest to her and will be delivering kisses to all boys near her only to die out of shame the next minute. It's all pretty funny, really. However, when she knows and trusts someone she will most likely behave like a wild, hyper, caring girl. This brings us to the next point.
Wild: Fairyn is wild. When she gets in those weird mood swings she might come up veeery hyper, veeery crazy. She will grin harder than the Cheshire cat and will bounce to climb a tree or a streetlamp and no one will ever be able to her get out of there. Unless, of course, she has another mood swing and starts crying over the fact that she will fall and die. Sweets usually help her getting into this mood. Caffeine helps too.
Outgoing: When she warms up to people (and she does that very easily), she gets more outgoing and friendly. She loves human contact and will be hugging everyone and anyone she's friends with. If she's in a really good mood she will kiss a random boy or dance with a random person. She will be laughing out loud about everything and anything and might even joke a little.
Short tempered: Do.Not.Get.Her.Angry. Really, don't. Fairyn is a vicious beast and will bite someone's head off. Ok, so this is not really what happens, but it is close enough. She often gets annoyed about people who think they are better than her or about being bullied or lose some argument. Yeah, she's a sore loser.
Bookworm: Ah, books are the perfect escape for Fairyn. She will read anything that comes to her, but she isn't a know-it-all. Actually, she manages to forget half of the story days after she'd read it. But that does not stop her from reading more. She likes romance especially and often dreams of a perfect knight in a lovely shiny rapidash.
It is a shame she doesn't like rapidash or knights, so she's perfectly fine by herself.
Distracted: Don't judge her wrong because she happens to fall over the stairs twice a day or if she manages to spill her drink n the floor every time she stands up or even if she walks against something, wall or person. She's just as distracted as they come. Her head is constantly thinking about really random subjects or arguing with herself to pay attention to all mortal fools (teehee xD). But she does get in lots of trouble because of this.
History: Born sixteen years ago in Vermillion hospital, Fairyn never knew her real family. She was put on an orphanage only days after she was born and the records about her parents were burned so she wouldn't find them. If the hospital, the orphanage or her parents did it, she isn't sure... However that doesn't seem like a legal action. She accepted that her parents did not want her and never had any problem with that. They could go to hell for all she cared. She had her family within the orphanage and nothing else mattered to her.
Being an orphan, she's used to share things with others and would do it often when she was little. She never had anything that she could call rightfully hers and liked it that way.
As a child she was very happy and carefree. She would play lots of games with the other children and got along with pretty much anyone. In her young mind, she'd stay in the orphanage forever with her friends, as if time was no more than just a name, an abstract entity that played no role in her life. Oh, how wrong she was...
Fairyn knew some families along the years that wanted to adopt her. However, as she saw all her friends go to foreign houses and start their families, she stood alone still in the orphanage. At twelve she was a little lonely girl. Not that she had no friends - in the orphanage there were kids from months old to 18 years old. Saying that she had no friends was completely off question. However she couldn't help but wonder why she hadn’t been chosen by any family to be a part of their family.
It was an Autumnal day and Fairyn was brushing her teeth and getting ready for the day that was sure to come. The orphanage had its own school and today it was Monday. After she was done, she put her backpack on her shoulder and was almost leaving the building when someone called her.
Seeing it was the principal of the orphanage, she stood serious and straight. However, the woman was smiling and told her that she had found some nice family for Fairyn.
They hugged her and offered her presents and took her into their house. It seemed great at first sight, but there was something wrong with it. Her foster parents smiled at her and brought her to a room filled with other kids. Fairyn thought they were her brothers when she noticed all of them were very unhappy and seemed very thin.
"Now we have one more worker" her new parents had said, and closed the door, locking her inside the dark room with all the others.
Fairyn had screamed and screamed until her throat was dry and she felt arms around her tiny form.
She got hushed and the same arms embraced her. "I'm sorry that you are here little one." The voice was hoarse and seemed rusty, as if the throat of the owner was too dry for speaking. "You'll have to get used to it." And indeed she did. Her foster parents made her work around the house and gave her small nutrition for all the work she had to do. The rest happened with the rest of the kids. One week, two weeks, one month passed and all remained the same. Fairyn had always been a quiet one, but she couldn't take it any longer. One day she decided to leave the house and to report to the orphanage what she had been suffering, along with all the kids here. She noticed her foster parents were out and ran to the front yard, making it to the front gate. Wrong choice.
Fairyn never knew, no one had ever told her that there was a guardian Houndoom on the front yard to keep them from escaping. As soon as he saw her, he lunged at her, biting hard on her left arm and letting a powerful flamethrower burn her hand, wrist and lower left arm. Crying in pain, she made it to the gate and fell down, receiving a scratch on her face, making her go blind. At last, she made it to the orphanage and reported everything. The couple was arrested and Fairyn & the kids came back to the orphanage. The burns on her left arm never healed, for the flame of a Houndoom never heals either. It doesn't hurt, but the memory is always there.
From that moment on, Fairyn became more reserved and shy, ending up in her two different personalities. She never wanted to be adopted again and was waiting for her 18th birthday to get out of the orphanage and get her own life.
However, the orphanage kicked her out for her pokemon journey; a thing they thought would make Fairyn heal her emotional wounds.
With her not so great experience with pokemon, Fairyn wasn't happy with that, but what could she do? Eventually, she had to move on and that's what she did.
Deciding to go as farther as she could, she took a boat to Lanorae and hoped for the best.
