Name:
drew hayden crosswell.
Nickname:
drew. nothing else.
Age:
17.
Gender:
male.
Occupation:
trainer.
Appearance:
Drew is handsome, to say the least. With his stunningly aristocratic features, and such eye-popping hair, he is noticed quite a lot. Drew basks in the glory of attention, and he knows that he is gorgeous; he always tries to use it for his advantage and is not the least bit modest.
Drew has semi-long silver gray hair, shaggy in it's immense glory. It is layered heavily, and with the right care for it, the strands will flip up like they're supposed to -- Drew absolutely loves taking care of his hair and will often be found with a brush. Those silver strands used to be brown in the old days, but he has had it permanently dyed to silver, as is the tradition for the males in the Crosswell line. He has long bangs that are barely noticeable, but they still at times shade his eyes, and his maids tell him how he must always brush them back so people may see his 'spellbinding' eyes. His 'spellbinding' eyes are a bright blue - yet they can range through a number of different colors such as an almost turquoise color to a light blue, with subtle highlights. Somewhat angled and almond-shaped, they are dreamy, and it seems as though he is sharing a joke with himself most of the time, but he is often quite alert unlike what most people think. His nose is actually quite short, though thin, which his maids tell him because he's always pressing his fingers against the soft skin. Drew has thin lips that are a pale rose pink, always stretched in a mischievous smirk. His skin is pale like light rose petals, and he's never had anything like an outbreak of pimples.
With a long lanky body, Drew reaches around a 6'1" and weighs about 160 lb, which people tell him is too little for his height. He ignores them, saying he knows what is and isn't good for him. Drew plays many sports -- volleyball and swimming being his main, which have obviously developed his muscles, he is most definitely not a skinny wimp. Besides volleyball and swimming, his other hobbies include ice skating and piano. They say that his piano is professional worthy, and they say it is absolutely beautiful -- and they say that it is what has made his fingers so elegantly long and beautiful. Actually, that is Drew's own description, while others have said they're freakishly long.
Drew tends to dress strangely as if preparing for the cold like his personality. In the summer, you will most commonly see him wearing a button-up shirt and a pair of jeans -- you will almost never see Drew wearing shorts, they're just too unprofessional. During conferences that he must attend with his father, he wears the normal suit: tie, jacket, shirt and pants, but he does manage to make it look good. In winter, a fur-lined jacket or something or some other sort of jacket is what you will see Drew wearing. At times he can rebel and wear strange clothing, which his father prohibits.
Drew has a strange marking under his left eye, whom his parents have told him is his birthmark, but strangely, he seems to doubt it. He also tends to wear jewelry, especially your casual earring every few days or so.
Personality:
Unlike his appearance, Drew's personality isn't really all that pleasant.
He's especially arrogant and cocky; he knows he is gorgeous and he's not at all scared to flaunt it. Drew brags about his money all the time, and sometimes he goes over the edge with his bragging, which his father has always hated. It is one of his most negative traits -- at times Drew never knows when to stop, and people can learn to not like him at all for this kind of stuff.
He tends to be anti-social, though at times he really does like to get up and have some fun, joke around. In truth, Drew's real problem is he has no idea how to socialize with people the same age as him -- he grew up talking with maids and old ladies, and he knows how to charm people older then him, nothing more. Drew doesn't have the ability to relate with normal children, because he has riches they could never dream of, and it has somehow created an invisible barrier between him and the rest of the world. Money. In conclusion, Drew Crosswell does not have many friends at all.
In saying so, Drew has somehow decided, maturely for once in his life, to get himself together and in the whole, detach himself from everyone else and focus on the company. By doing this, the boy has become much more mature and has finally started to see the world around him, something he was never able to see before. He now is much more quieter, though still as cocky and arrogant, but he tends to voice his opinions less and think before he speaks more.
Drew -- this is a secret, everyone -- becomes extremely nervous around girls, though his face allows him not to show it. He has dated around three, and he is 17. The truth was, he developed a tiny fear for dating when three girls dumped him in a row -- he hadn't known they were all friends! In that situation, Drew ended up with a huge cake piled onto his face, slammed quite unceremoniously onto his pale skin. Oh sure, he has many girls actually hitting on him, but they usually give up and tell their friends about the gorgeous boy 'who doesn't date, so don't even try'. In fact to tell the truth, he doesn't actually regret it much, for he tries to tell himself that having a girlfriend would just really stop himself from improving and taking on the skill to inherit the company from his parents, whom have always worked hard.
Unlike most teenagers his age, Drew really respects his elders. He has had a front row seat to all the responsibilities and quotas they must reach, and through it all he has learned that growing up is not at all awesome, for you gain a sort of wiseness that children do not. At his age, Drew is one of those few kids who have, and he does not embrace it, for unlike most people his age, he doesn't want to grow up -- he wants to stay 17 years old forever and stay his gorgeous self. This has bestowed upon him a somewhat childish and playful personality that most people his age don't get, and he often receives mood swings. Among the other things he does respect, Pokémon is one of them. He respects their power and their intelligence, and he treats any Pokémon like a human, talking even if they can't talk back; it's actually quite good, considering he doesn't treat many humans as well as he does Pokémon.
Drew has a great many habits though most aren't bad. He likes to brush his hair back from his eyes, which is something his maids caused from when he was young. When Drew is frustrated you will see him clenching the bridge of his nose, which on another person might look a tad weird, but on Drew it looks somewhat normal. He likes to touch his jewelry that he is wearing, whether it be an earring or a necklace. Drew is deathly afraid of disfiguration -- the thought of not looking as he is now frightens him. He is also scared of rejection and being alone, but his fear of rejection has somewhat mellowed now that he is the one that is imposing that.
History:
Born in the prestigious and high-class city of Sootopolis, Drew was raised almost without any other boys or girls his age, completely isolated from friendship, as they call it.
His father was named Joel Crosswell, and was the CEO of one of the largest Pokemon-related companies in the world -- they called it Crosswell Industries. Among the company's many items sold, the newest inventions were new Pokeballs as other sorts of technology. Joel had received the company from his father, whom had received it from his father -- Crosswell Industries had been passed on since Drew's great-great-grandfather.
His mother was named Joanne, a woman who believed in no religion, and was especially gifted in predicting the twists and turns of the stocks, something that was valued in the marketing business. Over the years, her husband and her had attempted to conceive a child, but to no avail. At the age of 43, however, she became pregnant -- a miracle that even the doctor almost refused to believe.
When Drew's mother, gave birth to the boy, the entire Crosswell family and company had raised their hands in delight. Mr. Crosswell was getting old, and everyone had been anxiously awaiting a successor for a long time, for the people in the company knew that the company was to be passed on by family, never to anyone else.
And in saying so, Drew Hayden Crosswell became the miracle baby, and his parents spoiled him as well as the fact that the press loved him.
At the age of eight he started acting in the Crosswell Industries commercials, and the public -- well they absolutely adored him. He was so cute, someone who was sure to become the next celebrity if they wanted to, and with looks of an angel most decided that he probably acted like one too. However, Drew was raised being given everything he wanted, and he was spoiled beyond belief. His family moved to Lilycove City when he was six years old, and even in the more populated city he made no friends due to his prejudiced ways of thinking.
Drew was raised never seeing his parents, but he adored them and respected them more than anything else, though Pokémon came to a close tie. People pitied him for never meeting his father and mother and talking to them in earnest, but he told them that he understood and that they had a responsibility, which was to keep the company going. He was taught by tutors and taken care of by maids, and with the help of all of these people, grew up into an abnormally handsome yet anti-social young man. However, at times he yearned to go out into the world himself and learn something besides these annoying math problems that he knew almost better than his teacher.
At the age of 16, people told him he was almost ready to take over the company, and his father said that he would -- when the boy turned 18. Drew had learned to accept the fact that people his age might not like him, and he had turned to focusing all his power into becoming the perfect successor for the company, which was not all that hard, for the only thing that had been holding him back before was his yearning to fit in.
However, the day he turned 17, his father came to him and had a talk with him. For the first time in his life, Drew had an honest-to-goodness talk with his father, whom he discovered to be just as good as he had hoped. They talked and talked about things long past, and Drew learned his real history, tracing all the way back to his great-great-grandfather who had been the original creator of the Crosswell Industries. Joel Crosswell told his son that he would have to pass a test in which he would prove that he was ready to take over the company. The man told his son that he would go on a journey as a trainer, and once he collected the badges available, he would be proven worthy for the position. He told his son that it was a tradition in the family, and Drew believed him.
The boy had always wanted to partner up with Pokemon, but his parents had always forbidden him to, which he had always wondered why, because they both owned Pokémon -- his father a Nidoking and his mother a Nidoqueen. Now he realized it was probably because his father did not want him having a 'head start' in his training to become the successor of the company, and Drew somehow appreciated that.
Father and son became unified that day, and Drew knew he was ready to take on the challenge that would allow him to take over his family's company. They had already poured over dozens of brochures -- the world had changed and now there were many new regions popping up here and there -- and Drew had chosen the Lanorae Region, a region of incomparable beauty and that had new Pokemon, whom he was quite interested in.
And that day, Drew Hayden Crosswell officially became a trainer.
