Name: Lao Seval
Nickname: N/A
Age: 17
Gender: male
Occupation: Trainer
Appearance: Lao's hair is a startling deep, rich red. He wears it mid-length to long, with it falling around his eyes. He has cold, jade eyes, that seem to look right through you. He stands 5'10", and has a lithe body type. He usually wears a pair of tundra camo pants, and a dark grey sleevless shirt. He has a black hoodie and almost is always wearing it. He keeps several items or pokeballs in the pouch. His feet are protected by a pair of worn, reliable hiking boots. His pants are capable of become shorts by unzipping the legs off at the knee. He carries a satchel-bag with him for the items that don't quite fit into his hoodie. No one knows just what all is in his satchel, and he makes sure not to let anyone get their filthy hands on it.
Personality: Lao is friendly in general, but he has a short temper, and was taught by his military father to keep people at a distance first. He likes to travel, and will usually try and spend as much time away from cities as possible. He is a loner by nature, and won't jump at the change to travel with people, though he gets along well enough with Pokemon. Lao is highly shy around girls, and will usually not talk to them unless they battle first (to breakthe ice).
Lao is hot-blooded, and loves battles that make him think hard. He wants to train the strongest team in the region, and then go back home to his families ranch. He has some basic military training thanks to his father, and is knowlegable about plants and some medicines.
He was raised to tell the truth, so he usually does, only lying in case of emergency. He hates people who don't work hard for what they gain, or steal what others worked hard for. He trys to be helpful to those he can be, and is sad when he's useless. He hates to see people in pain.
History: Lao is part of the Seval family, who once boasted over 15 different Pokemon and non-Pokemon ranches in the southern Johto region, each owned by a different family member. Lao enjoys having all those family members, and is fairly well liked. His father was Pvt. Jeremy Seval, and retired back to his family farm, and married Anne Moro-Seval, an accomplished Pokemon Trainer in her own right. He has a little brother, Garu, who is just turning 12. He was aised around Pokemon, and has no trouble dealing with Pokemon most people are scared of (Like his mother's Ursaring, capable of scaring the biggest of men with a growl).
Lao was always getting into trouble at home, what with his tendency to want to run around and fight the local Pokemon, with his father's Hitmonchan following him, faithfully keeping him from getting too hurt. It was always his mother's dream to send her children off to become Pokemon trainers, so she talked to Lao about it and he liked the idea, until she told him his little brother couldn't come. Lao and Garu are very close, and hated having to separate for the adventure.
Lao left home, and tryed to decide where to go. His mother and father wanted him to go to either Kanto or their own Johto, so they could get to him quickly if something happened, but his little brother suggested Lanorae, and off he went. He spent all his money on a ticket to Lanorae, and arrived in the harbor bouncing with excitement.
