Basic Information
Name: Victoria Rebecca Kennsington
Nickname: Vicki, Becca
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Occupation: Trainer
The Appearance
Height: 5'5"
Eye Color: Deep amber/emerald [Hazel]
Hair: Deep brown, and quite long
Skin tone: Slightly tanned
Build: Medium
Other: Victoria is not a 'voluptuous beauty one might expect out of a trainer her age, but instead is rather normal, almost ho hum in that respect. If one were to open a medical book and say what the average human proportions are for a teenager, she would fit the bill almost too the letter. Indeed, this is not her most... unique characteristic.
Clothing: Victoria tends to wear clothing that is good travel gear. This usually consists of a pair of tattered jeans, and a deep blue tee, as well as a pair of dirt brown travel boots, something she never leaves home without. Her backpack (because she refuses to subscribe to the 'messenger bag' stereotype that she sees in all the other regions) is sky blue in color, and quite able to hold her extra change of clothing (just in case), as well as any other random things she seems to pick up (pokeballs, potions, etc.)
The Persona
Basic Personality: In a nutshell, Victoria is a girl who has absolutely no idea what she is getting into. Because she has no inkling of what it's like to be a Pokémon trainer, as well as the fact that she so desperately wants to become one, she will get herself into all sorts of mischief. Her curiosity will get the best of her, simply because of her inability to remember (or know) that if one were to stick their head into a cave and call out rather loudly to whomever's there, there is a good chance one would get themselves attacked by a bunch of Zubat, or a single, angry Ursaring.
Curiosity may have killed prides of Persian, but it does not kill this girl, and most certainly not her spirit. Her pride may be hurt from one or two 'little issues' arising from her own insatiable curiosity, but she always bounces back. She takes her father's mantra to heart 'If you let the angry Gyarados see your failure, he'll surely eat you!'
When it comes to interacting with people, Victoria falls short on 'social skills.' She might be just as curious as she is when it comes to exploring, but at least with natural exploration, she does not have to say hello to it (unless of course it is a Pokemon, but that is far beyond the point.) Sometimes she comes off as rude, other times she is just too busy staring at the person to be rude. Other Pokémon trainers get her curiosity piqued even more, and she will readily ask millions of questions about how they obtained their Pokemon, how that Pokémon evolves, how many Gyms have you gotten through you got anymore Pokémon... the questions just keep going on and on.
Her insatiable curiosity is accented by her inability to keep to herself. She tends to be a rather... well... overzealous. Sometimes she just cannot tell the difference between 'going a little too far' and 'going just far enough,' and she hates being yelled at about it. It is the only time she will shy away and clam up from a situation; when someone yells at her. Not only is it a way to tell her she has gone much too far, but it can also scare her away, if that was what someone was aiming to do.
Likes: Victoria loves Pokemon, just about everything about them. She may have very little idea of what to actually do when she gets one, or encounters any, but she knows that she loves them to itty bitty pieces. She also has a love of chocolate, water, nature, and things that seem to shine and shimmer
Dislikes: There are aspects of the Pokémon world she dislikes, even if she has not seen them yet. With a dislike of many things rock-like and a hatred of things that seem to either crawl strange or do not have a discernible anatomy, there is bound to be some form of Pokémon that she does not like. Of course, she is indeed too naive to realize that yet.
Along with her dislike of things that just crawl strange and random rocks, she does not like it when it is incredibly boring. She just cannot stand to stand around and do absolutely nothing.
The History
History: Victoria, born to a middle class family in Kanto, lived a life that could only be described as 'sheltered.' Though her father was a great Pokémon trainer, she was never allowed to touch one, or learn about Pokémon to begin with. The influence of her grandmother was what was to blame, seeing as the woman thought they were devil spawn waiting to eat her little granddaughter. Victoria, of course, was brought up to believe that Pokémon were indeed devil spawn, and, for all she knew, that was how they were. Filled with stories from grandmother, Victoria was taught to fear those beasts, and she was taught that into her greater developing years.
It did not take long, however, for her father to become fed up with 'Grandma Vahne's' bitter to Pokémon ways, and he slowly began introducing his daughter to the 'so called devil spawn.' Victoria, though unaware that her father's Pokémon were just that, Pokemon, began to play with her new friends, happy to meet someone who was not ranting and raving about devil spawn. It was obvious that the child was never going to be allowed to have any other friends, seeing as they all began to want 'devil spawn Pokemon' of their own.
Soon it became a war between grandmother and father as to what Victoria was going to be allowed to see and interact with, though Victoria herself would not stand for it. Whenever she could escape the grasp of either influence, she adventured out of her own home to play with children her own age. This was how she met a boy about her age going by the name of Drake, who taught her everything she knows now about Pokémon. Granted, the boy knew only what his elder brother taught him, but that did not stop him from making such an impression on Victoria. Such a large impression, in fact, that one day when she came home from spending time with Drake and his (brother's) Pokemon, she insisted that she become a trainer. This caused quite a ruckus in the family, between father and grandmother, of course, which eventually led to a forced divorce (Victoria's poor mother just wanted to raise her child). Unfortunately for Victoria, this also meant that she had to choose between mother and father, seeing as neither parent was going to tear her from somewhere she did not want to be. In the end, she chose to stay with her mother and grandmother, not wanting to break her mother's heart.
She never saw her father again after that moment, but lived the rest of her childhood and adolescence in that house in Lavender Town, eventually making new friends. She never forgot how badly she wanted to become a Pokémon trainer, though she stuck to the house to appease her grandmother. Eventually, however, most of her friends left on their own Pokémon journeys, all to different regions. It was a wonder she made it to sixteen before mentioning it to her mother; her dream of becoming a Pokémon trainer that is. Her mother consented to letting her daughter live her dream of being a Pokémon Trainer and, with much strain from her grandmother, she helpef Victoria start a Pokémon journey.
It was a wonder she made it to Lanorae all the way from the Kanto region, but she did it. It might have been the disinterest in her own region coupled with the fact that she was out a map of where she thought she was going to go... but Lanorae is where she ended up.
