High Prairie (hi' prer'-ee) - is the first of many expanses available once you leave Konika Village. Quite an accent to the small town, High Prairie is a stretch of open grassland that hosts many Pokémon of different species. The main path that splits through the prairie is merely a bare stretch of earth, but it serves its purpose nonetheless.
The lack of real shade makes particularly warm days somewhat of a hazard. Even with the cool breeze blowing off the ocean, it can still get relatively warm out in the open, thus it's generally recommended to be careful which days you choose to head out to the next town! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLACES OF INTEREST -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- None-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLIMATE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Due to how close in proximity High Prairie is to Konika, the climate is more or less the same. During the spring and summer months the days are normally warm and sunny, with the scattering of clouds and occasional rain showers mixed in. During the autumn and winter months, rain seems to move into the route much more frequently. The risk of hurricanes is also present during these months, and some severe storms have been known to birth twisters as well. However, towards the far end where the rolling hills begin to arch higher into the sky, the climate begins to become much cooler during these months, where snowfall becomes even more likely.

They are generally seen scurrying about through the grasses and their temperament ranges from friendly to particularly aggressive. It is almost guaranteed a Rattata will be seen as you venture through the route, so don't take their presence as a surprise. Some of them are also known to be thieves, so make sure you have a decent grip on your supplies!

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Ledyba and Ledian | [cs=2]Docile and generally sweet individuals, Ledyba and Ledian rarely will go out of their way to attack a trainer if threatened. They prefer to just ignore any human presence and go about their business, though they will fight back if absolutely necessary.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Nidoran (F) and Nidorina | [cs=2]Generally fairly inquisitive individuals, the females amongst the Nidoran lines tend to be less aggressive than the male counterparts they are normally seen with. While they can fight if necessary, they're more apt to simply flee upon sight of a trainer.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Nidoran (M) and Nidorino | [cs=2]Male Nidoran and their evolutions tend to be a bit more aggressive than their female counterparts. They tend to be extremely protective over whatever female companion they may have, and it has been noted that they will attack trainers should they feel threatened. While Nidoran don't have a particularly potent poison to humans, the venom a Nidorino possesses can be deadly if not treated.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, and Bellossom | [cs=2]Among the Oddish evolution line, personality traits tend to be extremely varied. While Oddish, Gloom, and Vileplume tend to be more reserved, it has been known for a more aggressive individual to be present in their population, and Vileplume in particular do not normally like intruders in their immediate vicinity. Bellossom, however, tend to be very gentle and friendly, and commonly will perform a variety of dances for any audience that should be present on sunny days. Oddish are only active during the night, and remain buried in the ground during the day. Likewise, Bellossom can only be found during the day, however, both Gloom and Vileplume can be found at anytime.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff | [cs=2]Lone Hoppips or Skiplooms are often seen blowing by with the breeze, and large clusters are common, clinging together to keep the whole group on the ground. In general, these creatures are easygoing, cheerful, and friendly. They would rather let the wind carry them away than fight on most occasions.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot | [cs=2]Since there are very few trees on the prairie, save for the ones immediately outside of Konika, these birds have learned to make their nests on the ground, hidden by tall grass, though this makes them more prone to danger than if they had a roost high up. The Pidgeys, Pidgeottos and Pidgeots on this route are, as a result, not very trusting of others and oftentimes aggressive.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Poochyena and Mightyena | [cs=2]Small packs of Poochyena and Mightyena have claimed their own areas all over the prairie. The wild dogs patrol their borders frequently and there are often spats between packs. Humans make the 'yenas suspicious, but they are tolerant of well-behaved outsiders, so long as they aren't canines. Some Poochyena pups will even play with young humans that happen upon their pack's territory.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Zigzagoon and Linoone | [cs=2]The Zigzagoon in this area are inquisitive and friendly, with little fear of humans or outsiders; they are always curious about new arrivals, and have no problem zipping right up to them to investigate. If they take a liking to a passing human, many will be eager to show off their skills at finding items, and they will go on a hunt to dig up or discover something to give as a present. The Linoone are a bit more cautious and more prone to aggression, but they don't usually pose a big problem if left alone or approached with care.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Sentret and Furret | [cs=2]Though there is a rather high population of Sentret and Furret in the area, they are very cautious creatures, and they tend to run away when they see someone or something they don't recognize. Sentrets stand watch for others of their kind and will cry out upon spotting someone they think might pose danger, and after they have been alerted, all of the Sentrets nearby will dive for the maze-like tunnels and burrows made by Furrets. If a trainer wants to find one of these Pokémon, stealth and luck will be necessary. It is also advised that trainers look out for Furrets while engaging Sentrets, as they are very protective of their huge families and also very quick.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Spearow and Fearow | [cs=2]These birds are very territorial, and flocks of Spearow and Fearow will attack intruders as a group to chase them away from areas in which they nest. However, they are quick to flee if they feel outclassed, and individuals will rarely engage outsiders alone. Instead, they release cries that can be heard over half a mile away, and alert their flock that there is a need to flee or attack.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Abra and Kadabra | [cs=2]Not many of these strange creatures live on the prairie, and the ones that do are elusive. Abra and Kadabra teleport away at the first sign of danger, and use their ability to read minds to sense any trouble long before it is anywhere near them. Most will not show themselves unless they think they will be safe. Though younger Abra are basically helpless when cornered, older ones and Kadabra are powerful and dangerous if they cannot run away.

| [rs=3] | [atrb=class,pokemontableh1][cs=2] Buneary | [cs=2]Buneary tend to burrow in small groups and flee from contact with those they don't know. The ones living on the prairie are still inquisitive, however, and may hide close to the path in the tall grass, observing those that pass by. Some are even friendly, but for the most part, they do not try to communicate with outsiders and will feel threatened by anyone who chases after them. When they feel as though they are in danger, Buneary will uncoil their rolled-up ears to smack at the perceived threat with surprising force. They will then attempt to run.
