Shadegra, the Pokémon of death. Legend tells of this great beast's arrival from the bridge between worlds for a single purpose: leading the souls of the dead to the other world.
However, every 500 years, she comes to take the soul of a living individual. A tribute to her great power, for if Arceus was the Creator, she is the Destroyer. She comes from the shadows of our world, ever watching, and it is she we fear. She who controls our death.
It is for that purpose we of the Chosen have organized the Cult. Every year, in this hallowed month, we sacrifice our own, for fear that her unholy wrath befall us. For that would be our undoing. Our doom.
We believed we pleased her in the years past. Our hands have been stained with the blood of our own in her honour, yet, she is not pleased... we are dying. A beast has been unleashed to ravage our very being. A test. We must please the Mistress of Death, lest we become consumed.
She is not pleased. We must destroy the beast. Only its blood with satiate our mistress.
There are four 'ranks' you can be assigned, which are as follows:
Moderator [only one] Werewolf [number varies] Priest [only one] Follower [all the rest]
Depending on how many games we get through, the moderator may vary, but for the first game the moderator will be me.
Anyways, a rank will be assigned to each player via PM [AND MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THAT RANK SECRET!] The job of the "werewolves" is to slaughter [or 'taint' for the faint of heart x3] the villagers. The priest, as they are considered to be Chosen above the Chosen, has a second sight, which can sense lycanthropy, but there's more on that later.
The game starts at the time of night, but it will alternate between night and day. At night, the moderator contacts the werewolves and tells them who the other werewolves are [if there's more than one], the werewolves then agree on another player to act as their victim.
Once the werewolves tell the moderator who they have chosen, the moderator then contacts the priest and asks them to give another player's name. The moderator will either say if that player is a werewolf or a follower [after all, the Priest has a second sight].
Daytime:
After an answer is given to the priest, night turns to day, and the werewolves' 'victim' will be told that they have been attacked by the werewolves and are now out of the game.
Once done, the players then vote for another player to be killed in hopes of ridding the Cult of the werewolf [AGAIN KEEP YOUR RANK SECRET]. This can be done on the board, and you can say anything you want, be it truth, lie, or just nonsense. At least, the living players can. Unfortunately, if you've been killed you can't say anything.
Once a player is decided upon to be 'killed', their rank is revealed and you find out whether they were a werewolf, a follower, or even the priest. Once this process is completed, the night cycle continues [though as the circumstance may be, the priest part is skipped if that person happens to have been killed].
Winning
The humans win if they kill all the werewolves
The werewolves win if they kill enough followers so that the numbers are even [two werewolves and two villagers; one werewolf and one villages, ect.]
If you wish to join, simply post here. On October 10th -- or if there is a lack of anymore interest, whichever comes first -- everyone who signed up will be PMed their character for the game, and what rank they hold.
Characters
Kathleen Winechester - Played by Jake A kind, homely woman, Kathleen tries to stay friendly towards everyone. However, she has a noticeable dislike of Devon, and generally doesn't try to hide it. She is the mother of little Aaron, and she would protect him with her life.
Aaron Winchester - Played by Liz The youngest member of the Cult, Aaron was inducted due to the fact his mother has been part of it for years. He's rather nervous around all the adults present, though tries to do his best to show he is loyal to their cause.
Jeremiah Finch - Played by Andi A solemn, yet dashing young man, Jeremiah has been part of the Cult since its beginning. He has a very reasonable mind, and prefers to think things through before making any decision, not matter what the situation may be. Is known to keep a Murkrow in his company constantly, which causes some more superstitious individuals to be edgy around him.
Lawton Kefter - Played by Rexia A very cruel man by nature, Lawton has always been the one to perform the actual act of sacrificing chosen victims to Shadegra. He enjoys killing, though it seems Devon has him wrapped around his thumb as he has yet to harm anyone within the Cult itself.
Butler Kepler - Played by Ry While he is part of the Cult itself, Butler tends to play true to his name and acts more like a servant than anything else. He has an obsession with cleaning, and any mess tends to cause vast irritation in the man. Therefore, as expected, he cleans constantly.
Devon Altome - Played by Affectionate Zombie A highly religious man that is considered to be the leader of the Cult. He takes on the position of high priest and as the mouth of Shadegra herself. However, he is extremely manipulative, and many wonder if his so-called abilities are real or are merely a tool to get his desires. Has a noticeable attraction for Alicia, despire the large age difference between the man in his late forties and the twenty-year-old maiden.
Adrianna Malene - Played by Reece A woman who despises daylight, she's rarely seen out during the day if she can avoid it. Her room in the Cult House is constantly dark and she ensures no one ever goes in it. Chantings can be heard from her at night, thus many believe she may be some sort of witch.
Beatrice Kelly - Played by Cooljma A woman who believes she has the ability to see the future. Beatrice tends to talk about visions she has seen of Shadegra's coming, which ultimately ends with the destruction of the world itself. However, these visions are so frequent and change so often, many wonder if they are true.Killed by a werewolf. First death. Follower
Alicia Jaques - Played by October A beautiful young woman in her early twenties, yet very few would know that considering she constantly hides herself away. She tends to be edgy around others, and is almost never seen without a dark cloak draped over her shoulders.
Adeline Sawyer - Played by Quill A very eccentric elderly woman, Adeline is prone to randomly babbling some nonsense or shouting out strange things. She has a strong belief that Shadegra is the key to life and death, and that she can achieve immortality by coming in contact with the dark mistress.

Seeing as I'm a Vampyre, being near Werewolves might be tough, but if I get to slaughter them then I'm in. Plus, I can get more corpses for the gravedigger. He pays me to do that. >:P

All personas have been sent out! Remember, this is in-character. You don't have to write full roleplay posts, but talk as if you were that character =3 I'll give you guys some time to use your characters a bit before I start the first night phase though, that way the first person that dies isn't taken out of the game too quickly xD

Kathleen placed the book down on the end table. All-in-all it wasn't a bad read, but there was something irksome about the events at the end. Perhaps the plotline hit a little too close to home: a single mother trapped by the choices of her parents. If she hadn't been raised following Shadegra, chances are she wouldn't have ever found herself believing the practices. Sure, it was all she knew, but she resented that. Her father was the priest before Devon, but at his untimely passing and the disappearance of her mother, the Cult needed a new leader, and that turned out to be the boy she'd known most of her life, Devon.
She knew Devon growing up, as they were just a few years apart. Maybe she once was fond of him. Maybe she always had a sense of disdain toward him. One thing anyone ought to know about Kathleen was that beyond her simple, motherly persona was a mind constantly at work: her actions calculated, her words rich with forethought. She knew better than to badmouth the priest, regardless of her emotions. Wearing your heart on your sleeve, after all, was a quick way to gain enemies. It was certainly better to remain neutral to everyone than to gain a friend at the price of gaining an enemy, she knew.
She tapped the book idly. The Cult House was more akin to what would have been considered an estate by most past generations. While it was certainly quite roomy, regardless of square footage it seemed a little too packed with its ten residents. The majority of them were amiable enough, which made things even harder.
Her husband was sacrificed fourteen years ago, when Aaron was just two years old. Kathleen never speaks of it. Her husband, Wilson, was truly the love of her life and the talk of the town. He was overly generous, helping the townspeople who only repaid him with rumors and malice. The town was less than kind to those who followed the beliefs of Shadegra. Back then, the believers were quite large; however, as years passed, more and more people were sacrificed and less and less people remained loyal to the practice. It was widely known who the members were, and before long they were treated as second-class citizens. One couldn't walk down to the pier without hearing whispers behind their back. Finally it was decided all of the followers would live communally, and the Cult was created.
She shook the thought of her husband from her mind. The anniversary of his death was just a few days away, and the book seemed eerily familiar, with the final chapter ending on the day the protagonist's husband disappeared. With a swift movement she tossed the book into the nearby fire. Devon disallowed literature that didn't coincide with the practices of the Cult, so when she managed to sneak such a book into the House, it was of utmost importance to dispose of it quickly without evidence.
The clock rang five thirty. It was nearly dinner-time. She made her way from the confines of her "room" -- which consisted of a small bedding area beside her son, an attached bathroom and a small seating area near the fireplace -- down the corridor to the kitchen. Much to her surprise, it was empty. Normally Adeline would be preparing dinner by now, with Butler nagging her to be more cautious with her ingredients spilling about, and it was customary for Kathleen to come and help in whatever way she could. Where Adeline and Butler were was truly a mystery, but she wouldn't speak of it. No, she would just be sure to keep their absence in her memory in case anything came up. It was, after all, that time of the year.
Absently, she began to chop vegetables and slide them into a silver pot. A minestrone soup was planned, with leftovers from last night's roast and a simple mixed greens salad. Certainly, though, if Adeline showed up and had some better ideas, Kathleen would let the woman do as she pleased.
"Peculiar," she thought as she scrubbed the carrot under the crisp, cold water. "Where is everyone?"
OoC:// Hope no one minds I sorta power-played a bit... I just got a rush of inspiration and it kinda came at the cost of a few things... Like deciding the House's set up and the locations of some characters ^^; And Aaron's age. Sorry Liz, you're sixteen. xD Here's hoping I don't get lynched as a result!

Adrianna glared through the half closed blinds. The light seeping through caused her to struggle to the back of her room. The dark mist flowing around her, causing an uneven affect. Quietly her voice hummed, "Better get the food ready," Her yes shuffled from one end of the room, to the other. Tapping her foot she walked toward the kitchen area. Pictures and weird symbols and lines devised from Latin, hovered over the fridge. Placing her cold, sharp hand against the door, she pulled it open. Instead there was no light. Darkness seemed to have taken over a lot in Adrianna room. Pulling out some ingredients she placed them against a counter. Shutting the door and letter feel of, must probably a faulty Magnet. She picked it up.
Dear, Adrianna Malene., I know what you are! Leave us be you disgusting hag! For all i€ care you can go die! I just hope your curse backfires. You will never take my Family! Rot in hell you demented Witch!
The note caused a welling in her eyes. Yet, why did she keep it upon her fridge, for it was the only thing she really owned. All the other stuff stuck in the gloomy room, came with the Cult. She bowed her head and took the knife from a Wooden block to her right. Beginning to chop at random cloves of Vegetables, a tear dropped onto her food.

"People! I saw with my own third eye! I've predicted it! The apocalypse is coming!" The somewhat-elderly woman [Does fifty-two count as elderly?] known as Beatrice Kelly. Why, she had been saying things like this since she could talk. "Shadegra will destroy us all!" the woman whined and whailed, her voice oaming throughout the house and ringing in the ears of all. "No time remains! We must find protection! But nothing can protect us! The apocalyptic truth is the only truth., We're all doomed. Doomed from the start, doomed the end, doomed!" It was hard to tell what was in this woman's mind. Other than the basics. No, not sunshine and daisies and unicorns. More like Shadegra, pitch black darkness... And daisies, but they were wilted. Which meant no oxygen, and that becomes the apocalypse. At least, for the next ten minutes or so. "I saw it! I swear it! I have proof! Probe my mind, dissect me! It only means you'll lose the only person here who can see it coming!"
Average day according to Beatrice Kelly? That would be that the apocalypse is coming, Shadegra will kill the world, and death will be the final judgement. Want anything nicer? Read a children's book. They always end nice.
((I think that was good enough for a strong entrance. Complaints?))

Kathleen rolled her eyes at Beatrice's calls. "Beatrice, would you mind helping me with dinner?" She called back. Sure, the old woman was nothing if not loony, but some company was certainly better than none. If nothing else, it would allow her to get dinner made faster. "That's the only way to spare us from the apocalypse, you know. If we don't eat, our death is imminent!" Perhaps it was clear that she was mocking the older woman, but Kathleen knew her way around the mind of a crazy hag, or at least she liked to think she did.
"I wonder where Aaron is off to..." She thought to herself as she preheated the oven. "Hopefully not with Lawton. Nothing good ever comes from that man."

Adeline Sawyer finally shuffled into the kitchen, a concerned, vague sort of look dominating her features, in time to catch the 'conversation' between Kathleen and Beatrice.
"Beatrice, Beatrice -- you really ought to calm yourself. Shadegra... Shadegra is the key..." Her voice trailed off, and the elderly woman shook her head. Goodness.
"Kathleen," she called, making her way towards Adrianna so that she could help with preparing the food, "I'm terribly sorry I'm late -- Where is the celery!? -- but I was meditating, you see -- No celery? -- about..." she paused, glaring around at the kitchen as if it had hidden the mentioned vegetable.

A sigh escaped the lips of the youngest member of the Cult. Aaron had been trying to keep himself amused in his room within the mansion, reading a few of the books that the High priest approved of. The teen was perfectly aware of the fact his mother had the habit of smuggling more interesting literature into the mansion, and while the boy longed to read something else as well, Aaron was far too worried he'd get caught.
The Cult had been the boy's life for as long as he could remember; after all, he was their youngest member. While most of the time, that title was more than just an honor to carry, Aaron found it to be a heavy weight as well. There was the constant pressure for him to follow the beliefs of the cult in front of the other adults, and sometimes the boy wondered if he still wanted to be here. Did he really? Wouldn't he be better off just... being a normal boy?
Gently shaking the thoughts from his mind, Aaron wandered to the door of his mother's room, gently knocking on the door. "Mother? Mother, a-are you there?"
No reply came from inside. For a moment, the boy figured perhaps his mother had been caught up in another of her books; it was a pleasure to just watch that woman read. She'd sink right into the story... But Aaron realized that, just before he had left his room, the clock on the wall had run five-thirty. Perhaps mother had gone off to the kitchen, to make dinner.
Instead of going to the kitchen himself, Aaron retreated back into his own room. He would see his mother over dinner. He was strong, after all, he was a man. He didn't have to run to his mother for every little thing... With a sigh, the young man flopped onto his bed, staring absently at the ceiling. He had been so tired lately. Probably because of the anniversary of his father's death approaching...

"The key to our doom, I'm sure you mean!" retorted Beatric, who had started peeling carrots of their skins. "I'm telling you, the creature you worship will be your downfall, and everyone else's. This monster will corrupt the King of the Sea, Kyogre, and have it drown us all. No good can come of any of this." What Kathleen thought about her being a crazy old hag was definitely true - At least, moreso true than the coming apocalypse.
